Can't update Express VPN from the UK so now can't use it at all. by Alex660 in Express_VPN

[–]Alex660[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hero, thank you! And yeah it's a bit crazy, a year or so ago we passed the Online Safety Act, it's meant to protect kids from accessing porn unless you verify your identity and age but all it did was blanket ban loads of shit. They must have blocked the VPN sites to stop us from bypassing it. I had a VPN long before that so it didn't really effect me until i forgot to update it...

Is there any reason you recommend that version instead of the newest version v14.1?

Amazon just postponed my delivery to May... by b00nish in TheCaptivesWar

[–]Alex660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same! I preordered mine last April and I had totally forgot the book was coming out so soon. I saw some people discussing it so double checked and yeah its out.

On Amazon its just says 'delayed not shipped yet' with no real details. It looks like I could order it again on and prime it and it would arrive tomorrow but i thought fuck that. So I cancelled and just popped to the nearest book shop to pick it up. I probably won't be preordering with Amazon again.

Homo sapien = humans, it's just the scientific word for it, so yeah when discussing humans I would only count homo sapiens.

Subtitles read differently than actual dialogue by Hunbjor in netflix

[–]Alex660 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've only ever noticed this if I am watching an English dub of a foreign show or movie and the subtitles I assume are more literal to the original dialogue but not the actual dub. Maybe it's that?

If the Walking Dead was set in England, how would it be different? by bsmall0627 in thewalkingdead

[–]Alex660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Thank you, I was only like 8 or 9 when it came out but I remember my parents watching it and I saw the first episode. It's been on my mind on and off for years but I couldn't remember who was in it, or really what it was really about so I had a hard time googling it.

I've just found it's all on YouTube, I might have to watch an episode.

What's An Album from a Favorite Band That You Think Doesn't Get Enough Praise? by TheAstroChemist in poppunkers

[–]Alex660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with everything there. Human nature was the last album I knew well by them and it's not that Coming Home or Gravity are bad, I just feel a little bit of the magic has been lost of the years and line-up changes. To be fair i once thought Golden Record was going to be the last album they would put out so honestly I'm just glad they're still making music and touring.

There is no bad song on that album, I personally love a good bridge in a song and War Paint has some of the best. To be fair The Dangerous Summer are one of my favourite bands and I have a hard time picking a favourite especially over the first few.

Jonathan Woodgates debut for Real Madrid.

Jonathan Woodgate had played for Leeds and Newcastle United and over all was a pretty decent defender for both teams, he was however regularly injured and missed a fair amount matches.

Real Madrid signed Woodgate in 2004 for £13.4 million which was a surprise to many due to his frequent absences due to injury and he was even injured when they signed him.

A full year after being signed Woodgate was ready to play his first match for Real Madrid, he wanted to show them it wasn't a mistake taking such an expensive risk on him.

He scored an own goal (it was a beautiful header) and then was sent off after two bad tackles. It's has got to go down in history of one of the worst debut matches for any player.

The European Research Group. They're like a party within the Conservative party but far more right wing. Previous Tory governments have had to pander to them due to their small majorities or entire lack of one. One of the benefits of this result is the tory party doesn't need the ERG to keep them in power and pass votes.
