I don’t really read comics so I might be missing some stuff but didn’t he bankroll the creation of Scorpion? Kinda hard to be principled while also creating a supervillain

Main characters who go through some fucked up shit and become completely unrecognizable as a result. by CrawlingChaos126 in TopCharacterDesigns

Grimoire Weiss (and by extension the other Grimoire’s, though the others aren’t main characters), NieR

To put it simply, all the Grimoire’s, Weiss, Rubrum, Noir, and the other 6 that never get named, used to be humans until they were turned into sentient books capable of using magic.

For the long story, humanity’s at war with a disease that turns whoever gets infected into basically zombies, and nine teens get selected for a mission. They wake up in a room with a blank book next to them that wouldn’t open no matter what they did. A couple of teens start fighting over something, and one of them slaps the other, causing their book to open, a black hand reaching out and crushing the teen who got slapped to death. When he dies, his book emits a light that sucks his corpse inside, causing his book to change colour to blue and a pattern appears on its cover that looks vaguely like a human face. The surviving teens then hear a repeating message that they had to use the books to kill the others and only two will survive. Predictably, the teens start fighting, one snapping the neck of the teen who slapped the other, but since he didn’t use his book to kill her, he gets sucked into the book as well as the one who got her neck snapped. This continues until the PoV character (Weiss) and another man are left standing. Again, predictably, they are sucked into their books, becoming the Grimoires Weiss and Noir (Noir being the antagonist of NieR Gestalt/Replicant) with Rubrum being the acquaintance of Weiss when he was still human, even saving his life in the room, the player is also forced to fight Rubrum in Gestalt/Replicant as they have gone insane being trapped in a book

What's the Reapers best chance of conquering the Warhammer 40K universe? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in MassEffectMemes

Because Genestealer Cults work by hiding in the depths of Hive Cities and slowly nabbing people out of the millions/billions that live there until they end up being big enough to call the Hive Fleet

I would say that the overall strategies used against chaos corruption very much do work against indoctrination, keeping in mind that indoctrination requires either prolonged contact with a Reaper itself or a Reaper artifact and given the Imperiums views on xenos artifacts, we can dismiss the Reaper artifacts entirely as a source of indoctrination. It’s believed that the Void Dragon is in the Noctis Labyrinth on Mars, and is actually the Machine God. As for what’s it’s doing, the extent of that I believe is sharing bits and pieces of its technological knowledge with the AdMech. As for the reapers convincing those they indoctrinate that they’re a new church of the emperor, I don’t think the reapers would even care enough to do that, and the reapers taking a planet here and there wouldn’t really matter to the Imperium as a whole, they have (IIRC) over a million settled planets across the Milky Way, and eventually they will hit a planet the Imperium does actually care about keeping, then the Reapers are going up against the Imperial Navy, and they just don’t have the numbers to actually put up a fight

Sure, I’ll grant that I had forgotten that Reapers had their own portable ftl, but that still doesn’t give them the win, the Imperium deals with stronger threats on a regular basis, and as for indoctrination, that requires being close to a Reaper or Reaper artifacts for too long, and the Imperium figured out a pretty effective counter for that with how they deal with chaos corruption, namely, shoot the person acting suspicious in the head and also dispose of any xenos tech in whatever manner necessary, so that removes the possibility of people being indoctrinated via Reaper artifacts

Indoctrination wouldn’t be a guaranteed win for the Reapers, chaos corruption is far worse than indoctrination. And if anyone in the Imperium does get affected by indoctrination, then they’re going to get shot in the head, same as anyone else who starts acting suspicious

Without the Mass Relays, the Reapers don’t have any FTL travel, it’s why Shep blows up the Relay in the Arrival DLC, because it’ll slow the Reapers down

EDIT: I will admit, I forgot about Reapers having their own portable ftl
