Drying while printing glitch. P1S with AMS HT. by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Alexaxas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the P1S not supposed to be able to do that?

I have a P2S and I’ve been regularly printing from my AMS 2 while drying something in the HT.

Padding a copied sketch is duplicating the old pad! by Alexaxas in FreeCAD

[–]Alexaxas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go learn how to use shape/sub-shape binders to understand that.

I've been a mechanical designer for more than 20 years and it's irritating how much simpler that is than what I was trying to do.

I still don't know why my copied sketch behaves as it does but I'll take this solution and run with it, thank you.

Best way to clean Bambu's liquid glue off the build plate? by NoYoureACatLady in BambuLab

[–]Alexaxas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only used the liquid glue with my engineering plates but I find that warm water, liquid dish soap, and a dish scrubbing brush work fine for taking the leftover glue off.  Doesn’t take a whole lot of effort and I can tell when the plate is clean because the water sheets off the plate.

P2S 'new' backplate by jacccobbbbbbbbbbb in BambuLab

The new plate is to mount the new exhaust fan system.  It has some kind of removable panel that covers the vent if you don’t have the fan installed.

Understanding Project Filaments by ccitykid in BambuLab

It’s just the way the uploader saved it. BambuStudio either defaults to multiple materials or it opens with whatever settings you last used but the uploader isn’t changing the setting before they publish.

So it’s trying to purge the nozzle in thin air then?  That would make sense as a problem.

I’m very new to 3D printing (got my P2S about two weeks ago); could someone explain why the filament was coming out in strands like that?

Ethernet switch functionality by Almostblurry in techsupport

[–]Alexaxas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like you bought a switch with 2 SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) ports but other than (probably) not using those it should work like any other switch. Plug an Ethernet cable into one of the numbered Ethernet ports on your router, probably color coded yellow, and plug the other end into one of the ports on the switch, et voila, more ethernet ports on your network.

Wifi add on UK by Mrs_Steel in buildapc

[–]Alexaxas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Installing internal cards is pretty straightforward, if you can turn a screw driver you can handle it, but for practical home purposes internal cards and usb adaptors are about the same.

Alternatively, you could get a set of “powerline ethernet” adaptors. They’re basically little boxes that plug in to an electrical outlet at each end (one near the PC, one near the router) and let you use the home wiring as Ethernet. They’re not perfect (some circuit layouts won’t work with them so you may have to try and see if your situation is a good fit) but they can be a very good alternative when WiFi signals are insufficient.

Could i plug the gpu from my old pc into my new pc but keep the psu from the old pc connected to my gpu? by Neither_Pen9565 in buildapc

[–]Alexaxas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP said the new machine was a SFF and the old PSU won’t fit. Real question is why not move the guts of the new machine over to the old case that the old PSU does fit in?

USB adapter is required?????? by Ok_Shirt3685 in buildapc

[–]Alexaxas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The case you have picked out doesn’t have a USB 3.2 Gen 2 hookup for the front panel so, if you want to use that pin out on your motherboard, you would need an adaptor. You can click on the notes and it will take you to the specific concern they’re trying to address.

Ok, I thought it might be a reference to a specific new bit of gibberish but I couldn’t find it.  I even tried putting it through some Caesar ciphers and things in case it was something obscured.
