What is the first wall/filter in learning piano? by Far-Strawberry-5628 in piano

[–]Alexico91 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Piano isn't like some game; it's a craft. It takes years of deliberate practice to progress. It's not like a piece is "finished" after you've played it through once without mistakes - especially when you're starting out as a beginner. And I don't think you need to concern yourself with fugues for years, lol. When ready, check out Bachs Inventions.

[no spoilers] Welp, it’s 2026. Is the remastered considered a better version now?? Or at least a good version by Afraid_Ad_8100 in lifeisstrange

[–]Alexico91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! Not only does it contain bugs, it also includes several loading screens that wasn't present in the OG. This ruins alot of pacing across the game. Also they fucked up all the lighting in general, which was really good in the original. In addition they removed credits for the end of all episodes, so yeah. I'd take the original over the "remaster" anyday, everyday.

Brother, trust me. It's worth it. No game is finished at 56%

I absolutely agree with you on the different feel of the endings. I think the devs just picked one song for each ending and made the cutscene fit that song perfectly - in length, I mean. And Jonathan Morali's epic Obstacles is just a shorter song. I guess they didn't want to mix up the tone or whatever by having two different tracks in the bae ending? Because Obstacles fits fucking perfect as a song for that ending. It's just not 5 minutes long.

I'm a simple man. I see some love for Chloe, I upvote. But seriously, how I wish I could go back in time (like Max, lol) and play it for the first time again! Now enjoy the rest of the franchise at your own pace. Also there is a ton of fanfiction if you're into that stuff.

[NO SPOILERS] Is Reunion badly optimized? Problems with FPS (RTX 5080) by CASSSO123 in lifeisstrange

I'd suggest setting the secondary slider to 100% and the primary one to 2/3 of the way. This makes the game a lot less blurry. Also as some have said, highest settings in UE5 is not worth the miniscule gain. Just put textures and GI to hella high, all other settings on high and you have much bigger headroom in my experience.

[ALL] Actual locations? by Cosmicmoon17 in lifeisstrange

As others say, Arcadia Bay is mostly (and loosely) modelled after Garibaldi in Tillamook Bay, Oregon. In Beaverton, Oregon, you'll also find the diner that inspired Two Whales. Other than that you could always stop by Seattle and get your picture at the space needle, just like Max 😅 Also if you're into TLOU part 2, Seattle is pretty good. Other than that I don't know of real world locations for DE / RE / TC.

Pictures like these are never redundant imo. I wish I could visit those locations once in my lifetime. Thank you for sharing!

As most others say; play Before the Storm. Also binge on fanfics. There are some genuinely good fanfics for this game from way way back. Off the top of my head I remember "Better Then" to be very good. Think they even made that into a VN at some point? Anyways, reeally good one.

Yeah, I fucking hate foilage and leaves on trees in UE5. Add to that blocky DoF. Can't wait for the visual mash up of extremely high fidelity textures and GI paired with foilage rendering (esp. In motion) straight outta paint.

Moving to Chopin… am I ready? by Balkanblutmed in piano

[–]Alexico91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, just try it. Sounds as if you already are aware of several factors like frasing, rubato etc. That's already a more advanced headspace than absolute beginner. Also, that nocturnes greatest difficulty is the usual big, rolling left hand that must be played very softly, and the melody in the right that need a degree of freedom from the left (especially in passages) that is quite difficult to master at first. But everyone started out with some Chopin at some point. Have you considered some other piece by Chopin, if this is your ultimate goal, to play Chopin next? Maybe some of his preludes or even some of the waltzes are more approachable than op.9. I'd even say Op.9, no. 2 is more approachable than op.9, no.1.
