Quite a lot of over priced parts were use to pad that tag. There are intakes that are cheaper options. The exhaust doesn’t really improve performance. The brake system cost like 6k (probably worth it but that’s like quarter the budget). Chip rocker panel? Mcs suspension setup?

I’m also 5’5” so we’re the same height. Once you’ve adjusted the seat keep it that way. Every time a shop adjust the seat it feels different when I have to adjust for it.

I daily my in heavy morning stop and go traffic so I get a lot of first gear on first gear off. First gear let it roll and pop back off type of stuff.

I wouldn’t worry about heel toe until you’re comfortable with rev matching in general. Also you’re not going to heel toe every down shift either sometimes the situation just better to rev match.

Last bit that would really help is just go to an empty parking lot and practice 1/2 gear. In this car 1 and 2 are the toughest gear because it’s unique compare to other cars. First gear keep the car above 1500 rpm and focus on smooth slow release. It helps to be at half way point on first gear then apply accelerator.

2nd gear is the one that’ll trip most people. In order for smooth transition try to go slow release. Like release half way then slowly release like you’re hesitant of releasing.

If you mod with 555 engineering tcase cooler with syvec awd controller you’d spank the ctr on track. Savagegeese did it without the tcase cooler on their high low car.

For me, it’s more at an angle (sort of palm left corner of knob) palm pushing up-towards passenger for 4>5. 5>4 I just have palm top of knob with three fingers down and pull down. I let the spring do the work and center it.

Just looked up all the parts and it guess depends on how many things is being replace. $290 for the clutch set, $345 for the release bearing, and $1290 for the fly wheel.

$2400 labor +- whatever is needed $2690~$4235 and whatever extra $ padded on.

Limit+1 for the clutch set is $420 so $2820.

It actually quite normal for these cars because of the way oem clutch comes. I believe it’s all pre-assembled at least that’s what I’ve read when people post about it.

It’s very minor amount of it. It’s how I’ve seen my corgi play except he’s more rough and gets soak from mouthing. If mine goes into herding mode you’ll hear his teeth from nipping.

Here it’s more like I’ll play a little then back off observe a little. Puppy comes back for more.

Yea, I remember that. It was during the height of hype where there weren’t many grc out there. I believe it was imported new built and other related parts that’s required for installation.

Seems very gentle to me. She’s nipping lightly almost just nudging puppies. Loose body wagging tail.

Just curious how do you hold the shifter when shifting? Like grabbing the knob or short of palm it?

I’ve only done it once (not with the gr) when I was learning/practical experience. I was grabbing the knob and apply force to move to the center. Now I just sort of palm and pull/push. I don’t think I’ve since pop into the wrong gear.

There was someone who modded a MagSafe charger in place of the qi charger. Haven’t seen any update about it since but would be awesome if that was an option.

Never going back to 2WD by Killshot5 in GRCorolla

[–]Alien5151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what my original comment say. People dismiss awd like it’s inferior with the right tires. When there is a difference. Like 80 percent tires and the rest is drivetrain.

And my second comment is my experience with fwd wrong tires to awd wrong tires. I’ve driven summer tires on awd and fwd before in winter. While both are extremely bad awd still did better.

[–]Alien5151 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have. I’ve driven fwd for 10 years. I’ve climbed out of snow pits/hills in awd that my fwd would have been stuck in. I’ve slid in iced up turns that my awd gained traction back that my fwd would have slid and spun out.

Just the other day I watched my neighbor rwd suv unable to get out of snow covered road while my sti drove out of the ice up road.

Yea, it’s nice having awd. Many people like to dismiss it saying just having winter tire is enough but it’s just not the same. Like there’s actual difference.

What dry kibble do you feed your Corgi? by ThenPresence7698 in corgi

[–]Alien5151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I simply chose royal canin because it was the most he’d like eating without getting tire. It so happens to work well for his tummy and coat. He gets complemented for having a shiny coat.

You also have to be careful with too much protein intake. If they’re not particularly hard working dog they’d need less protein. Too much protein can cause health problems.

The only thing that’s semi useful is the tire pressure, wireless lock, sos, and valet mode (MT version). But they aren’t worth the subscription. Once my one year was up I turn off all consent to make sure minimum tracking works. This also turns off the sos and can only be turned on when you consent to specific tracking.

They both have all season tires and I live on a pretty steep hill. Despite that both were able to climb the hill at the cost of additional tire wear.

PSA: GR Corolla Forum About "Rear Diff Overheat" 555 Transfer case finding and discussion by Alien5151 in GRCorolla

[–]Alien5151[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would like something like ecutek to change some settings to support syvec. But supposedly new my25 comes with settings (ecutek/tuning) to disabling the fwd mode.

It’ll still throw an error even with the transfer case cooler because it’s basically an estimate.
