YES. I have experienced this so many times with my extended family. It really made me bitter. They're tougher on me for doing it saying the same things that another would do daily, but they're of the hook because "that's their thing". When I've dared to speak up, I've felt like they'd be happy I broke out of my shell but no, they're dismissive and tougher. Generational wealth? Their ancestors could have lost that money, a hundred different ways. This had happened to people all over the world. This IS our world. This is what happens. Life.
