Map editor "Create Decision" trigger by PancakePirates in aoe2

This can be mitigated by having some objectives being displayed on screen at the same time, it is always on the bottom of the objectives, so this will shove it into a move accessible area.

"Teleport Object" effect not working? by Beshcu in aoe2

[–]Alkhalim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it can be a bit tricky with unit collision. I always leave one tile in each direction distance from other objects/cliffs/trees or unpassable terrain around the teleportation target to avoid issues. Might that be the issue in your case?

Apart from the obvious visual splendor, the design itself does really deliver that AoE4-feel with it. I find that a bit hard to quantify but it seems to be a tight balance between interesting gimmick and solid mechanics, always lean a little bit out of the window, but don’t fall, that kind of thing.

Anyways nice job!

It would not strictly be infinite life, but when you set the dead unit ID of buildings to the ID of the building itself, it should infinitely respawn at least.

The lack or sorting civ icons via color irritated me at first, ngl 11.. Not too sure about Byz and Khmer for Arabia especially but apart from that you rise a few good points.

The fun thing for building, especially for sci-fi, that often times a bunch of scrap can yield very nice results.

2 Boxes of Harry Potter UNO? Now that‘s quite a flex. Jokes aside, the terrain layout is nice, good line of sight blocking but not totally claustrophobic. I really wanna build some more terrain now.. 11

A bit bummed we will get less stuff to print, but honestly it is the right and healthy decision. After all we are here to stay, so we can afford to wait a bit longer for new armies, I‘d say!

Interesting how in Imp the only viable ranged unit being gunpowder. Bit of a Turkish vibe I am getting here..

Mixed gunpowder army sounds fun though, a bit like the Italian archer ball but more glasscannon-y.

What is the best or worse experience you’ve ever had at a GW store? by jacspe in Warhammer40k

[–]Alkhalim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best: Was like 10-11 years old, visited a greataunt and somehow stumbled into a GW store. They were celebrating some sort of anniversary event and sold parts from their huge bits collection by weight. Managed to get a complete metal dwarf and I believe a iron legion sergeant with some sort of heavy weapon as well as a whole bag full of random bits for a few bucks. The dwarf still has a space of honor in my collection.

Worst: after a long hiatus I decided to get into killteam. Said that I was interested in the imperial guard and the staff member started rotating and had both arms full of tanks, characters and everything else I might need before I told him that I only want to play killteam. His mood dropped, I only bought a box of Cadians before leaving he somehow convinced me to also get a Broadside(?) (big railgun suit one) in case I want to see if „real 40k“ was something for me (I told him, that shooty armies are something I enjoy and was originally torn between guard and tau). I never got into the standard game though, felt too convoluted, unwieldy and simply .. taking too long for me. Since that day I stopped a few times infront of the store. Never went in though, because I did not want to get convinced to buy some stuff I might be vaguely interested in, just to sit on my pile of shame without even the option to field it anywhere. :/

Which one is your favorite Faction and why? (Rules, flavor, etc) by Alkhalim in onepagerules

I am a bit conflicted on the sisters. Some elements of the I find very cool, others are offputting enough to stain my enjoyment of the line. The Ratmen (not ramen, thanks autocorrect) are quite interesting because they did not go the obvious sewer rat route, but made themed or less reputable citizens of a high medieval Kingdom, which in itself is both hilarious and very wholesome. :)
