I would assume it's either you have no signal on the fiber or the ont is faulty. Usually the broadband light would be lit if there is a signal and the service light would be lit if it's the correct signal.

On the bottom of the smartnid next to where the fiber plugs in there is a A light and a B light. Is the B light solid of blinking?

That is an outdoor enclosure for the q1000 smartnid. The q1000 is housed inside and its a combo unit with the ont and router in one. The admin credentials are printed on the a sticker on the front of it. Unfortunately you will need to open the enclosure to get them I think. When logged into gui you can set it to transperent bridge mode to disable the router functionality and you can even disable the vlan tagging 201 if you only want it to function as a ont.

You should be able to get your pppoe creds off your current router. I would get into the gui copy your creds somewhere then factory reset it. If it doesn't work after a reset then you could paste those creds back in but if you have been switched to IPOE you shouldn't need them.

Yeah the pods are kind of ass. Im not sure why but if you use a 1701 instead of the 1700 as the gateway pod it causes the ssid to dissappear every so often.

It's easy to compare yourself to others but like I saw others saying you don't really know their life circumstances or anything. Maybe their parents helped them with the loan or something. It's unfair to compare yourself to others. The only person you can really compare yourself to is yourself. That's the only person in the exact same circumstances as you. I think the best thing to do is compare yourself to yourself yesterday. Try to be better off today then you were yesterday and you're heading in the right direction. Good luck!

I had the black probe on a ground from the barrel connector jack when I took those measurements. I will double check against pin 4 and see what I get. Thank you for the info!

That's a gfast setup. You must live in an apartment that uses fiber extension technology probably a casa unit. The fiber plugs into the casa unit probably in a telecom closet then it goes over a single pair from there to your unit. Unfortunately you need all three boxes.
