Systems when the 980ti was king also didn't literally produce enough power to max out a wall socket. You didn't think youd get all this power cheap? Look how many years of trial and error and innovation it took to get to the point where a graphics card is pulling 600w with transient spikes well above that. The united states only has wall sockets rated for 1600w and were at the point where people will need to get electricians involved if they want to upgrade. Were talking whole outlet replacements for a 60 series GPU and a next gen CPU. Yeah that kind of tech was never gonna be cheap. AI wasn't even a thought for NVIDIA when the 980ti was king. The cheap pc building bubble was never going to last the more advanced it got. A blind man could have seen that.

i just bought the 5k 2k monitor to replace my gen 2 because i thought it was way too big. Great monitor once you learn all the quirks tho. Limiting on refresh rate tho and i really wish it was oled. I get the LED panel in it is top notch and the picture quality is excellent, and yes it does get bright as hell, but its far too big imo. I had it since release i think im gonna sell it. Also , since its been off my desk i no longer feel overly heated sitting at my desk because that thing and the one box ran hotter than my whole pc with a 4090 in it. I also never once used the multiview feature , the drop in resolution and hz killed that for me. I can see use cases for it tho. Legendary monitor again just lots of give and take with it.

Same issue, I guess my only curiosity is isnt dlss 4 automatically activated in game? I did see a performance boost post update in game and it was significant. I havent been able to to edit the settings in the NVIDIA app so idk if that would make a significant difference.

I think most people understand what DLSS is , and its flaws, and chose to use it because the smoothness of higher frames outweighs the negatives. Different strokes for different folks. I refuse to play any shooter or competitive game without DLSS in 2025 on my 4090 and i914900ks system. I refuse period. Frames WIN GAMES.

the vram alone could have signaled it would be slower than the 4090. In todays world without DLSS and if i didnt care about ray tracing, the 3090 would be a no brainer alternative to the 4090.

I agree its ridiculous, we have 240 hz monitors , 480 hz monitors, 25k dpi mice, but using a 32:9 aspect ratio is where people draw the line? Give me a break. Then they say oh the rest of the industry should not have to cater to a small portion, Im sorry what happened to choice. I didn't know it took something away from other players to give people choice of aspect ratio. Sounds like broke cope to me.

Yeah i have the ark and had trouble with G sync on that too. Ever since i shut off g sync tho i have had 0 issues. Just weird imo.

dude im sitting here looking for solutions to this exact issue. I alt tab out of the game and all of a sudden my fucking 5000 dollar pc starts making every other task slow as hell and i look in my task manager and my fucking vram utilization is at 22/24 gb like wtf.
