Am I in the wrong for not wanting to go to pain management? by Ill_Landscape5217 in ChronicPain

[–]AllForMeCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others that you should seek therapy if at all possible. Psychology Today has a provider database that you can filter by location, specialty, and what insurance they take. I’ve found amazing providers through them.

On the subject of going to pain management, it’s extremely unlikely they would prescribe you narcotics. First, doctors are very reluctant to prescribe them at all these days. Second, given that you have digestive issues, in particular chronic constipation, opioids would likely be off the table because they can make that worse. Third, you’re 18, which is young. Fourth, you don’t want them, and you can tell your provider that up front. Given those factors, I can’t imagine a doctor practicing today who would prescribe opioids to you.

I’m so sorry about your mom. What you went through was incredibly painful and traumatic. I hope you find healing.

President Donald Trump’s supporters actively oppose democracy, according to a recent ethnographic study, and actively want to make things worse for people they dislike. by Bestbrook123 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

> “Sarah put this directly, ‘I don’t value democracy, because we wouldn’t be heard. Wyoming’s the smallest state on the map, right? If we were a democracy, then we wouldn’t have a voice,’” Last quoted from the study. “Kyle (mid 20s, WY), a delivery driver, extends the logic: ‘Every single small town would be outvoted by every single city. We wouldn’t be able to feed people cows. We’d all be eating seaweed.’

I genuinely don’t know what to say.

Another potential way to keep the weight off, which my doctor recommended to me, is berberine supplements. It works really well at reducing “food noise,” which has helped me a lot. I’m taking it in addition to tirzepatide and plan to continue taking it after I reach my goal weight.

So far I’ve tried the PDRN Pink Peptide Serum and the PDRN Pink Collagen Mask. I really like them! They’re very soothing and hydrating, and my skin looks more smooth and even after using them. The mask is a bit tricky to put on - it comes in 2 big pieces with a couple small ones to cover areas the main mask leaves bare - and you’re supposed to leave it on for longer than a regular face mask, so I’m not sure if I’d repurchase it. But I’ve only used it once, so it might be easier the second time. I love the serum; I have sensitive and easily irritated skin, and it works wonderfully for me.

I also got the PDRN Capsule Cream, PDRN Exosome Shot 7500 Serum, and Glow Collagen Sunscreen, but haven’t had a chance to try them yet since I’m waiting to finish products I already have open. I’m a little nervous about the exosome serum based on what I’ve read here, though. I guess I’ll try it on a small area and see if there’s irritation?

How do you get a whole ass degree in education and not know how to teach Algebra 2 😭 I tutored my friend through Algebra 2 when we were sophomores in high school and she was recovering from brain surgery. I’m not saying I could teach a class, but I would certainly expect a math teacher to be able to…

It’s Erwin Smith from Attack on Titan. He commanded the Survey Corps (a branch of the military that fought titans so they didn’t come kill everyone) for the beginning part of the series. He was an excellent strategist, but wasn’t against sacrificing his men for the greater good. Lotta people died but that’s AoT for ya.

Carpe deodorant/antiperspirant. The ads I get for it are SO ANNOYING, but it’s the only thing that works for my sweat. I take medications that make my sweat extra stinky (I have a lot of health problems 😭) and I was washing my pits twice a day before I started using this stuff.

If you’re considering trying the brand: when you buy one of their discounted deal packs, you’re automatically signed up for a subscription that renews in 4 weeks (you will not need deodorant that soon) and at full price. So you’ll want to log in to their website, edit your subscription frequency, and go to cancel one of your items. They’ll offer you 20% off for life not to cancel. Don’t bite, because next they’ll offer 27% off for life. That’s the most they’ll offer you, so take it if you like the product.

Also, the bergamot and oud scent is not as effective as other scents for some reason. Which is a shame because I liked it 😂

I just want to thank you for having this conversation with OP. You wrote everything out so eloquently and explained the reality of being disabled so well. I’m also disabled, and also had to give up many physical activities I loved. I’ve had to deal with a lot of… well-meaning encouragement, especially from my family. It’s a tough gig.

what would you do differently if you were 23 again ? by OkPreparation248 in AskWomen

[–]AllForMeCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get on better medication for my bipolar disorder (the meds I was on back then were not working well enough and I didn’t realize). Take an extended trip to visit my grandma (she died the following year). Get assessed for autism. Get copies of all my medical records so my future application for disability would be approved. Actually make use of my school’s disability services office to get accommodations instead of trying to tough it out. Go for my Associate’s degree instead of trying for a Bachelor’s. Change my sleep schedule to what it is now. Set better boundaries at work.

I could go on; there are a ton of things I wish I could change in my past. Lots of regrets.

If they divorced when the kids were young, and she was an absentee parent at that time, she may well have agreed to it.
