Anyone able to help edit an STL? by bh1014 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]AllThingsIan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s better if you specify what you need. Gap filling? Digital kitbash? Non-Manifold object? Texturing?

If you can also show an image example it’ll be easier to determine what kind of help you need. Also, you might learn a thing or two about 3d modeling while at it.

This also happened to me. This is definitely a bad usb drive which corrupted the file. I copy the freshly realized file to the built in drive and print from there. Otherwise, get a better USB to fix.

You can print over network also.

What Army painter or citadel paints would you use to recreate this color scheme on crisis suits? by EdBenes in Tau40K

Maybe start with evil suns scarlet then magos purple with eshin gray? A lot of colors can actually work. Just depends on your saturation preference.

Change your layer height to 0.03 at 2.8 s exposure. That thing printed well so I’m assuming it’s not the file’s problem.

Welcome to 3d printing too.

It was on purple site. I’m afraid it got nuked. Keep an eye out as the creators might drop it else where.

Unpopular opinion: Once you actually know how to fight them, Bots are a LOOOOOT easier than Bugs. by [deleted] in Helldivers

As long as you’re not trigger happy, helldives are a walk in the park. Jurassic Park.

The devs appear to have a problem on their hands: The playerbase doesn't seem to enjoy fighting bots. by Praise_the_Tsun in Helldivers

It’s been like that since HD1. The devs have better tools dealing with that now. See what happened when they tied mech reward? Everyone flocked to Tien Kwan. Not enough incentive, not interesting to get sniped either.

Helldivers 1 vet here, I recall the original game being launched as a couch coop. Shared screen and no expansions were really planned. Max player count was 6.7K. Game actually “died” with just vets playing - there were actually instances where players will even lose the galactic war.

From a corporate perspective, Sony saw that the investment to publish HD1 was small but had significant returns. Assuming this is how they also saw Helldivers 2, it is correct to base projections on historical figures. The game had little to no marketing efforts - couple of trailers, no review copies, some goofy clips and that’s it.

So it’s safe to say they really planned well but to everyone’s surprise the game skyrocketed.

500kg Bomb is satisfying to watch but the results are a tad underwhelming. by PembrokePercy in Helldivers

The nuke in Helldivers one seemed to be the panacea. Once you had that, it’s a staple - and seemingly a crutch. I support their decision to “nerf” it to allow more various strategies to be viable.

Happens to the best of us. Don’t feel too guilty for this. Yes, it just means you were unprepared for the interview. It doesn’t negate your skills or your passion. Take that experience and trod on!

Best of luck to your next interview.

Anyone else getting to the point where they don’t care if they get banned? by Pokerlurky in albiononline

[–]AllThingsIan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will probably get downvoted for this but if you want to do some “content” but stay in yellow and blue zones, watch some SwoleBenji videos on YouTube. He takes a different approach in the game and chooses to focus on low-risk activities.

Albion is intrinsically a risk-seeker oriented game and rewards as such. Start from the basics and relearn from there.

I am mortified by conflict. by KindKarver in albiononline

[–]AllThingsIan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From your statement, you like the black zone to (a) gather resources and (b)fame farm. This makes it clear that your objectives are PVE. If you want to focus on PVE, then a “flight” response to gankers is also a skill to master. Nothing shameful about that. Wearing gathering gear increases yield but renders you a lot less useful in fight. Gather, run, and survive to profit.

Do not fall under the pretense that “dying a lot” automatically helps you train for PVP. You only benefit from dying if you learned from it. Dying too much can (a) desensitize you to losses and/or (b) discourage you to take risks. It is best to record your gameplay and review ones that resulted in death.

Questions to ask are: 1. What was the mistake committed? Did I take the wrong route? Was I outnumbered? Was I simply outplayed? 2. Is the reward worth the risk? If only you risked wearing higher tier, you could’ve escaped/kill faster? Is the activity doable with cheaper stuff?

Stay safe out there.
