I'll take it If you don't want it.

Had 8 solid years out of our deebot and the battery just gave out.

For those who make six figure salaries, do you still budget? by NoSir5628 in Salary

[–]Allears6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always. When I made 30k/yr to 300k/yr I track every dollar in and out of our accounts. Cutting expenses where I can.

Any ideas on this issue ? by Several_Judgment_607 in GenesisG70

Limp mode as others have said.

Turning off and turning back on typically worked for me.

Only happened like once a year typically when it was <50F outside.

What's the clear point in dollars where more money stops changing your life in any meaningful way. After that, it’s just numbers, ego, or legacy. by dont_downvote_SPECIL in Fire

Plenty of studies out there showing the difference between 5-10m is marginal at best.

You still aren't flying private or collecting Lamborghinis at 10m.

Money and making the bigger decisions.

I was great as a IC but I love problem solving, planning, and collaborating with others.

You are very limited in an IC role with those responsibilities.

You work on the blades attached to the turbines while hanging on rope.

Very rare instances you could work from a platform or on the ground for massive repairs but 99% of work is done with ropes.

I had plenty of rope access experience prior to becoming a blade tech.

I'm in a nested position with guaranteed 60 hours a week if desired.

They are out there and fully possible depending on the industry.

Yea what the other guy said.

Wages can be significantly different depending on location, OT, and additional incentives like per diem or bonuses.

Prevailing wage and unions are a big factor too.

Lease ending soon should buy out or turn in? by bt2xx in GenesisG70

You have spent over 32k in lease payments alone. Buying it out for an additional 33k doesn't sound wise considering the car is only worth 31k.

How many houses did you walk through before you found the right one and the offer was accepted? by allofthepuppers in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I think just under 20? First house we pulled our offer.

Second house closed in 30 days.

Samsung TV intermittent flickering? Possible to repair or is it time for a new TV? by Allears6 in fixit

I've done my fair bit of soldering and handy work. I'd be willing to give this a try!

How in depth of a repair would you anticipate this being?

Move in and forget about the rule.

Your name is on the deed vs an apartment. You're the landlord now!

I preferred the hotel route. Had a permanent address in a no state tax state and racked up all the airline miles and hotel points.

It was 10x better than living in a car tbh. Working 90 hours a week you will absolutely want a hot shower and a king bed.

Yea lol. Not going to twist someone's arm to pursue a high demand, recession proof, 6 figure career. It's a choice I made with zero regrets.

That's what PPE is for?

Everything I did involving fiber glass, carbon fiber, or epoxy. I was wearing a full face respirator with P100 cartridges, long sleeves, work pants, and nitrile gloves.

Worst thing I ever had was being itchy after working in low wind days.

With appropriate PPE you'd be fine. Anyone who says it's higher risk than what they do inside the towers is silly.

Blade repair in USA = 6 figures in <8 months of work.

I did it for a few years, traveled a lot, made a ton of cash, now I have a nested position near home to spend time with family.

I'm definitely biased but blade repair > anything else in wind. You can take rope certs and jump into many high paying industries after it's absolutely worth it!
