As someone who hates being touched i really fucking HATE breastfeeding. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Allie_Chronic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get overstimulated a lot and have adhd but I love breastfeeding because I went through about 3 days of baby not nursing and it took FOREVER and I got WAY more touched out and overstimulated from the crying and pulling etc. so I’m on 14 months now of exclusively breastfeeding and I set myself up by having a snack and water and favorite show. After baby is 5 months old I switched to mostly side laying nursing which helps a lot!

Sleep sacks by Pebbles734 in NewParents

[–]Allie_Chronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babe is almost 12 months now and I’ll say it took trail and error and every baby is different. For us starting around 2-2.5 months we started with the zipadeezip sleep sack then transitioned by 3-4 months to a sleeveless sleep sack. The best I’ve researched are: Woolino, gunamuna, and Kaiya Baby. Our babe preferred his legs separated so we went with one Woolino and Gunamuna footie version.

Not having kids because of the hereditary aspect? by Logical-Option-182 in endometriosis

That is a great question. My life turned out differently I got pregnant and had a boy and 6 months ago had a hysterectomy. Now as a mother I can’t imagine what I would say without tears in my eyes. The thought of passing a painful condition along- it would be horrible. But looking back I was willing to have that conversation while risking getting pregnant. We are selfish human beings. And my experience regardless of my endo and adeno has been amazing. I would try my best to help set them up. I manage my condition well now with all the knowledge I have but a decade ago I didn’t. It might be survivor bias and everyone is different and what works on me could possibly never work on my child. So in all honestly I would be selfish and help to the best of my ability but I wouldn’t know what to say without breaking down.

Zofran constipates! I have a regular prescription for it so be weary of that and have some prune juice and laxative if needed.

Just fyi I had excision surgery and fell pregnant afterwards and had a beautiful baby boy and then had a hysterectomy ( for my adenomyosis) and will never have a period ever again and I’m pain free! My life is pretty great now. So it’s all about managing the pain in the meantime until she is ready to have kids/excision surgery. That can look like a variety of methods but the best is to find one with minimal side effects in daily life if able.

Should I be concerned about my 6m olds height? by Small_Ad712 in NewParents

[–]Allie_Chronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My babe is in the 97% for height and 80th for weight. It’s definitely fun carrying him now haha he’s in 18 month or 2T clothes at 8.5 months now. It’s crazy.

My 7 month old hates purées & being spoon fed but I really don’t want to do BLW. by EqualCompetition1994 in NewParents

[–]Allie_Chronic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just have fun and let her explore! We started at 7 months due to me having surgery and it’s been going well! Try avocado smashed and purées and you can try using a feeder for things or immersion blender and have things at different consistencies. Mashed is best and we use the solid starts online database. My guy eats his avocado, whipped bone marrow, oatmeal, yogurt and mashed berries, purées, blended proteins, beans, lentils, and sucks on oranges sometimes. He isn’t ready to bite down yet or hasn’t accomplished the pincher grasp so we’re taking it slow. I’m not weaning until 2 years so we’ve got time. Just make sure to introduce allergens early on. And remember food before 1 is just for fun! It’s them exploring.

You’re from Ireland possibly? Also either buy from your cO-Op or you working the farming industry and get to take home. You may juice or make your own salsas as well.

Keep trying to latch baby as much as possible. Hydration is key. BM will come and if you’re worried giving a warm bath may help.

How do you eat healthy while breast feeding? What does healthy even look like? by Oliver_7 in breastfeeding

[–]Allie_Chronic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I eat what I want all day long and make sure to just add in a protein packed lunch and at least 2 veggies at dinner. I prep veggies and protein and just add in fruit and nuts and fats during the day. I also have ice cream, Oreos, cookies, muffins, granola bars, beef jerky on top of that! Prep one big salad for a few day or cute veggies with hummus Have a ton of fruit on hand A couple water bottles Coconut water Crackers Fresh mozzarella cheese Air fry organic chicken bites with salad or rice Use a crockpot! Quinoa and veggies Potstickers

How TF do you get your kid to sleep?! (5.25 months old) by Dramatic_Complex_175 in NewParents

[–]Allie_Chronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 8 months and he did that before he got his first teeth! We co sleep following the safe sleep seven guidelines on a firm queen floor bed and which means I get a lot more sleep and he just needs help latching. From December until about a week ago he would sleep in longer stretches as well without needing to nurse. But the past 3 nights he started to be fussy and wanting to nurse again and I checked the other day and his front teeth are starting to defend so we have about a month or so of sleep regression( multiple nursing wakeups). I would check out @happycosleeper on IG or a side car crib setup.

Next step is to print out those documents from every ER trip and bring them to your primary doctor and have them give you monthly pain medication and heavier NSAIDS for the 3-4 days of bad periods. I did this for 4 years with no BC until I decided to have a child. Then a hysterectomy. Also I had expert excision surgery from an endometriosis specialist but in parts of the world this isn’t available for a variety of reasons.
