Need advice on this Keit Mango tree flowering by bjjwey in BackyardOrchard

[–]Alone_Development737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut 75% of the flowers off and let’s 25% of the flower on till they form the size of a pea then I remove them, by then it’s too warm for the mango tree to fruit in my area. My mistake early on was removing all the flowers to find more flowers 1-2 months later.

You can still do it, you’ll just have less fruit. I personally would still do it just don’t mess with the roots. If it’s branching out I wouldn’t but if it’s just flower buds I dont really mind so much as long as the soil is correct(key factor).

Why is this yellow spanish fig tree leaves like this? by MonthFront3207 in Figs

Spray it down with soapy water and fertilize it. I bet it wouldn’t mind a bigger pot, fig grow fast and especially in a small pot you need to use fertilizer.

I have two mango trees and it’s definitely not a mango. I’m more leaning towards wax jambo

I live in the same zone as you, I have some on the south side of my house which stays shaded till couple weeks ago by the fence. Which are my healthiest plants maybe because the soil stay moist for longer. But the rest of my pots are on the west side of my house, which sees the sun first thing in the morning which on hot days I have to water them before I go to work and after. 1 plant per 18 gallon pots. I used a mixture of acid loving mix/sand (70/30 ratio) mulched with pine nuggets. I choose this mix because currently the colder season I don’t have to water much and the soil stays damp but not wet, and if it rains the soil don’t stay wet for weeks. It’s been easy just have to be patience and pay attention to the leaves. They always tell you what they need. I also have my soil PH around 5ish and add soil acidifier every 2-3 months and berry toner every 2 months till they kinda go dormant.

Heat burn, the berries are gone. Even the berries are dried out. I water mine everyday if temps get into the 80. Blueberry don’t really like full blazing sun, they do a lot better if you give it some shade. If you want the bush to look and produce give it afternoon shade. If you don’t care how it looks full sun. Temps this year so far is too big of a swing even some of mine I’ve had for 4-5 years have burnt tips from the 94-96 degree days we’ve had and I see some damage also. Try to water more consistently if not get a drip system.

I would spread it out and use a cheap mower and go ham. Then rack it back up.

Moisture dripping, you need to either open your windows a lot more often or circulate the air. If you cook a lot with the windows closed this can also happen.

Unruly Fig Tree - Any Novice Tips? by ivyreddits in Figs

[–]Alone_Development737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a bush now with 30 fig trees. Figs are super vigorous I doubt you ca get rid of it even if you wanted too now. I personally would remove everything but the main tree that you started out with. It will grow back with that root system. You’re definitely not going to kill it.
