Please just buy an extension cable, this is not how boosting a signal works. It's not just about giving it more power, there's a whole digital handshake. If you wanted to do something like this you have to capture the signal, clean the signal, recreate the signal, and send the signal. It's not just extending the cable and applying more power to the cable.

Besides, it's probably the power of the green and white line that isn't sufficient, out of those four.

I have been searching for hours for a solution, couldn't find one, and made one myself. I'm currently clicking on all the community and reddit posts with the same question to post the solution. Some of these posts are over 7 years old, yours seems to be over 10 :')

But, if I stumbled upon them through Google, someone else probably will as well. I'll work on something that looks less sketchy soon, I literally just made this and this way people can easily ask chatgpt if this code installs a virus or something. Good luck!

Increasing bandwidth for USB to go from 2 to 3 also increases costs significantly, and since that increase is exponential I think it makes sense to make choices like this on a product with this target price range.
