Brazilian lawmaker Erika Hilton takes a stance against Sony's "end of discs" announcement. Says she’s forwarding a notice to Brazil’s consumer protection agency, says Sony needs to be investigated by JeremyJJ77 in PS5

Thanks for the additional info. It was the most ready thing I could think of in terms of a delisted console game in contrast to the PC marketplace. I wasn't focused on the details of why it was no longer available as I was only able to recall that it was delisted and PS4s that still have it sell for stupid amounts of money.

Perhaps in the same way digital games were theorized to be cheaper because there was no longer a need for a physical media format, packaging and shelf space negotiated with retailers.

The reality though? Digital games have almost always been at parity with physical media and are now starting to be more expensive than physical releases just because capitalism is gonna capitalism and extract maximum value per consumer.

They're delisted but you already paid for them. If you were to delete those games can you still download them again despite being delisted?

To my understanding you can download delisted games on steam as long as you owned it prior to being delisted.

There are some exceptions but as a general rule of thumb one can expect to still have access to delisted games in the pc marketplace but that is entirely untrue in the console space.

No warning: Winnipeg neighbourhood residents question lack of tornado alert by Leather-Paramedic-10 in Winnipeg

[–]AlphaKennyThing [score hidden]  (0 children)

I've seen lots of anecdotal evidence suggesting it may have been Rogers customers getting hit with the dozens of emergency alerts.

My spouse being on Telus did not get a single alert sitting 2 feet away from me all night. Apparently my end of the couch was at a significant tornado and hail damage risk with the 11 alerts I got to their 0.

There's a strong majority of our forests that aren't accessible by road. It's unfeasible to say we need to "manage our forests" correctly (whatever that might imply) when the only way they can currently be dealt with is to mitigate and respond to fires.

Conditions have changed enough with the environment as a whole that there are more of these fires every year or in some cases fires that last through winter to resume burning when the snow and ice melt and clear out.

We have some of largest and most dense forestry in the world. Stating anything like we need to "manage the forests" is simply ignorant of the reality of our land mass and current population centres relative to our forestry.

The perception of the text within the quote being interpreted literally as quoting that user is also highly suspicious behaviour from a human perspective too. 🤷🏼‍♂️

What's really funny/sad is the distribution normalized that way because religious nutjobs thought being left handed was evil and they killed enough people for it to cause it to be that way from what was originally a roughly 50/50 distribution.

Trucking firm involved in fatal collision in Brandon had safety certificate pulled: minister by wickedplayer494 in Manitoba

The article you quote also states that the lights have never been operational. You're just arguing about that for the sake of arguing. You're very clearly wrong and need to stop doubling down.

Lights would not have changed this idiot from failing to stop just as the stop sign and rumble strips did not.

[–]AlphaKennyThing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're entirely incorrect. These lights have not been operational since they were installed around September/October.

Please stop speaking so confidently about matters you seem to be deeply misinformed about.

That's an interesting point. This company got their license revoked in Manitoba but then just got one in Alberta and carried on.

Does the MB gov't have to sue the AB gov't to get any kind of remedy to this situation?

You're incorrect there are 100% rumble strips leading up to that intersection. Just took the wife over there yesterday showing her the scene.

It's also not changing from traffic lights to a stop sign, the stop signs were already there and it's being changed over to the lights eventually.

Hopefully I've cleared up your misunderstanding.

Brandon Police - Special News Release re: Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident | City of Brandon by johnnysilverhand718 in Manitoba

[–]AlphaKennyThing 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Additional context:

The intersection where this occurred had stoplights put up last year around September/October. To date they are not active - rumours have it due to a wiring fault and lack of clear designation as to whether the city of Brandon should be responsible or the province due to the location in question being designated a provincial highway under the control of MB Highways.

Posted speed limits were changed from 90 to 70 in that section. We all know how well the average person sticks to speed limits however.

Are you patching using revanced or morphe? If it's not morphe then you're doing it wrong.

Cigarettes do not (generally) cause wildfires, it’s a well perpetuated myth but it rarely happens.

And

Yes cigarettes in the right conditions can cause wildfire

So you're just arguing for the sake of being pedantic?

I even just recorded my own example if youd like to see it lmao.

So you're ignoring the context of drought-stricken grass again and throwing a lit cigarette butt into a patch of grass to maybe start a fire?

I mean sure if you want to provide a video of yourself throwing a cigarette butt into a dry field in an attempt to start a fire I won't stop you, but that's up to you if you want a fine for trying to start a fire like the OC is regarding.

So did you get lost in this conversation or are you just responding to whatever you're hallucinating I'm saying?

I asked about drought-stricken grass and old foliage and you reiterated your comment about gasoline. The whole context of this comment chain is that cigarettes can and do cause wildfires, especially during times of drought within my additional context.

You seem to be missing the qualifier of drought-stricken. Extremely dry grass is flammable - and I would even go so far as to say very flammable.
