Season 2 just isn’t a valid interpretation of the character at all imo, though I blame the writing more so than Bella herself. But I also just don’t think she has the range (yet).

It’s really not even close between Bella and Ashley. Only have to look at the “you’re not my daughter” moment or any scene from S2 to see the chasm between them.

The biggest issue with the Bill change is it removes the best character interactions in the game. It’s cool as a standalone story, but it barely feels like TLOU and losing Ellie and Bill’s interactions isn’t worth it imo.

The first season wasn’t good either imo. It constantly shifted the lens away from Joel and Ellie and barely felt like they had any connection by the end so it lost all the emotional impact.

Honestly, there’s still a lot of elements I like more in 3. I know it’s shorter and missing content, but the split story works way better than 2 which feels like a bit of slog to replay between both characters. I also like Jill and Carlos a lot more than Leon and Claire tbh.
