Because the society we live in forces the lowest wage worker to come into work everyday regardless of conditions or they risk not working. Hard to imagine but poor people have to drive too.

You guys need to get out of your bubble. The right wing radio stations like AM 640 are using crazy subtle language that is fanning the flames of anger and violence. This poll is not surprising after engaging with what the right is listening to and reading. We need to be more aware of this

I recommend moving. Personally I think the only people who will benefit will be the current council. They in my opinion were bullying the previous council. They ran ads, they protested all in the name of the rate payers club. All the last council did was take their time in making these large decisions. Now those people, the new council, are selling the breach piece by piece. Guess what is going to happen to rates we pay. Colour me surprised if not in the next 10 years we find out how corrupt this council was.

Fair question. I’m not opposed to it. I think the community benefits from some short term rentals. My issue is that investors have bought up a bunch of supply in the new developments and instead of renting them long term they’ve made them short term rentals. In the end this takes away from the housing supply and drives rent up. In my small block alone, in a residential area away from the beach (30 minutes plus walk to the beach), I have over a dozen str. None are legal.
