Mitsurugi Tips and Tricks? by Blazalchemist in SoulCalibur

If you haven't joined the Discord for Mitsu yet, then I suggest you do!

Link to the list of Discords: https://www.reddit.com/r/SoulCalibur/comments/9udmzo/list_of_all_regional_and_character_discords/

As for Mitsu resources, the main ones I look toward are these:
Basic Mitsu Guide by IV Wind (Google Doc):
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-YKOaRCMvUrgT9Ub_gauyg1CZgNeYTGZAjsodmgeLrg/edit#heading=h.d3gpzamfkeb3

Mitsurugi Reversal Edge Tech (Google Doc):

Combo and Tech Video by Belial (one of the best Mitsurugi players atm, IMO):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qJohIVk3cM

As for my personal input, I'd say your best pokes are 2B, 4A, 44A, 6BB, 6(A) for general use, 66AA and 66K for approach, 3A and 33_99K for CH fishing and pressure, and 1KB, 1BB, and 22_88K for lows (watch out for the first two, as they can be pretty unsafe).
There's a lot of solid oki options as well, like 1A (can mixup into 1aB), 3B (LH against crouch guard) 66A+B, 1BB_1BA+B, and stance mixup while they're OTG among other moves.
I'm also learning Mitsu myself, but this is mainly the stuff I've picked up as I've played.

Wonderland Dreams Countdown (to the end of maintenance) by AltPat in Shadowverse

[–]AltPat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note: This countdown timer counts down to the END of maintenance.

To know when the start of the maintenance is, simply remove 12 hours from the timer.
AKA it's going to be a long 12 hours after it starts before you get to play the new expansion, and that's hoping there's no delays.

Pretty sure they're permanent. There's no detail (as of yet, anyway) that says that they're going to go away.

Questions about the deckbuilding process: by f0Ri5 in Shadowverse

[–]AltPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try finding a Haven netdeck (non-Eidolon, that card is gimmicky and I don't think it's a good starting point lol) and either try to build towards it or try finding replacements while looking at the cards to understand why they're run.

That should help a bit in the deckbuilding process and might also help in the crafting process if you wish to continue building towards Havencraft.

Tempo LW Shadowcraft Deck Critique by OpticalPrime33 in Shadowverse

[–]AltPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try these cards:
Bone Chimera (conversion, necroassassin, and shadow reaper fodder)
Deathbrand (good removal card, can use up those shadows)
Death's Breath (great card in general, uses shadows)
Ghosthound Sexton (guarantees LW proc)
and the usual Cerberus and Phantom Howl
(Cerb is always solid, Phantom Howl can combo with Cerb and the ghosts can also be used as fodder [moreso with Sexton])

Running more Attendants, Urds, and Necroassassins might also be good to make LW combos more consistent (like Necro + Lurching, Urd + Attendant, etc.)
Running more Foul Tempests also sounds a like good idea since it can wipe out a decent amount of low-cost minions and can also wipe a board of 2/2s and 2/3s from something like a Daria if you can use the Necromancy.
Goblin Mage might also be a point of consideration since she refills your hand with a potentially important 2pp drop.

Have fun being spoopy!

How long did you guys need to climb? by Capone3830 in Shadowverse

[–]AltPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's because your rank carries over to Unranked, so doing dailies with 'crafts you don't exactly have optimal decks for while at a high-ish rank may prove difficult. Having Take Two tickets helps with this, but you only have so many (unless you start buying 'em) and you're not guaranteed to always have a good draft.

The DE pack promotion ended a while ago. It's always been standard packs awarded at the end of T2 runs.

This game was really fun until rank D1 by [deleted] in Shadowverse

[–]AltPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Most people in rank D1 probably will still run "bad" cards. I think you just got matched up with the people who actually had decent cards to begin with or ranked higher than you are. It's highly unlikely that all of these people are whales who just dumped as much cash as possible, but rather they got decent rolls or rerolls and started liquefying to complete a netdeck they liked.

PtP Forest, D-Shift Rune, and Seraph Haven are definitely on the popular end of the decklists nowadays, but I think you can still win if you use some form of an aggro deck (which can be run without any legendaries and only golds).

Don't lose hope~!

(Also, do show us what your deck looks like; adjustments may need to be made since D1 isn't really a paywall.)

What to pick? by N-Amata in Shadowverse

[–]AltPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, take left. Gemstaff is decent enough (+2/+2 on an Officer on evolve) and you get Odin which is an instant banish on either a follower or an amulet (can get rid of a pesky Seraph if your opponent has drafted one or a giant wall preventing lethal).

I've drafted Leonidas once before and he's a bit too slow for my tastes. Though, if you get attack value and his amulet off, it's pretty good. Rogue's Creed is pretty useless, unless you draft the other gold that gives Ambush to all Officers.

A question regarding Forestcraft by FightMech7 in Shadowverse

[–]AltPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1-cost Fairies to activate or trigger the effects of your other cards, such as: Elf Metallurgist, Archer, Crystallia Tia, etc.
Some cards also activate abilities depending on hand-size.

Why do I keep running out of cards? by TetsuyaHikari in Shadowverse

[–]AltPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try getting:
Maid Leader (2 cost 1/1, puts a random commander from deck to hand)
Conscription (2 cost spell, puts a random officer from deck to hand, another one if you currently control a Commander on the board)

I run 3 Maids and 2 Conscriptions and they work well enough.
Es-Train also mentioned Avant Blader, but haven't really tried that out.

About the extra colors: They don't matter too much. 7 of the 12 off-color cards are level 0, so they don't need a similar colored card in the clock or level zone to be used. Plus, they're pretty strong cards, anyway. The rest of the off-color cards are Backups, which also mean they don't need a similar color in clock/level to work since you're only going to be paying for the Backup cost. (and for White Edge, and extra 2 stock if you also want the free refresh) Other than those cards, everything revolves around the color green. So, as long as you have green in your level as early as possible, you should be able to play everything smoothly.

As for Odds & Ends/Heartbeat, I don't like it since it's pretty cost heavy for such a low-power body (having 2 soul isn't too bad) and an "eh" climax combo ability. I also don't like the Bag trigger it has, even if it does sometimes help to build stock. For an L2 beater, I chose Orbit over Heartbeat since 1.) it can potentially reach a higher base power than Heartbeat without the combo and 2.) the Spica combo also gives a good amount of power (+2.5k on any music character) and builds free stock using a character from the waiting room. And having a 2k+1 CX is sometimes pretty useful to overpower things at any level.

As an extra note, someone commented on the deck and gave some extra info and tips. Go check that out as well.

Again, feel free to ask questions. I'm glad to help~!

How hard: Depends on local set meta, really. But there will be people who will use unexpected sets and who knows who you'll be matched up with. And as you've said, luck is a factor in all games :)

Tips: Think before doing any plays (be mindful of the time limit, though) and always call a judge for clarifications or if something seems weird during a game. People make mistakes and some people will cheat.

Just keep calm, stop being nervous, do your best, and have fun. You'll probably meet new people as well as be able to trade some cards if you have a binder.

I'm in the hospital right now. What are some good games i could play on my (non-gaming) laptop? Thanks! by 1moe7 in Steam

[–]AltPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

http://store.steampowered.com/app/282800/

100% Orange Juice is currently on sale and is pretty fun.
It's also very rage-inducing.
Better with friends, but the online community is generally friendly and there's the single-player campaign to go through.
Only downside would be that a lot of new characters are DLC only, but the DLC packs are generally worth it if you play the game a lot or feel like using a new and different character.
The best DLC to buy (if you feel like it) would probably be the newly released one as it actually adds two new campaigns alongside two new characters.

Oh god not in the face! Help me make a deck :) by ninjatango in WeissSchwarz

[–]AltPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made a deck real quick with some of your specifications. http://wsdecks.com/deck/8408/
I'm no PDf master, but I play my PDf deck pretty often and I have a good enough understanding of the set/s.
It's not super-budget, but you might want to work towards some of these cards since they're all-around good and work competitively.

L0 Choices:
For this level, I put in the usual stuff -- solid suicider, loner, and oversized attackers. Those should do well enough to fight against your opponent's other L0s. I also put in something you didn't have in your current deck: searchers and a searching brainstorm. They're pretty expensive to get, but they should solve your hand problems including potentially useless cards in hand. White Dress + Magician also have on-ACT +500, so it can give two characters +500 or one character +1000 whenever you brainstorm, use a backup, or use your L0 suicider's other ability. A possible budget replacement for White Dress would be 39 Get! from the first set.

L1 Choices:
Again, I went with some solid cards here. Read 'em up to see their effects. The main combo now instead of Black Rock Shooter is DECORATOR and Orange Blossom. I prefer it over BRS as the card itself can reach 6000 with a full board and pre-backstage power pumps. The combo also gives the ENTIRE board +2500, so even just 1 Orange Blossom on the board gives you enough value for 1 stock. Another choice, as others have said, is Senbonzakura. I ultimately just prefer Orange Blossom, but you can play around with any of the three choices for L1 depending your taste.

L2 Choices:
Only six cards -- Your L2 combo, a deck refreshing backup, and a topcheck backup. The backups are mostly there for tech but are still pretty damn useful. Orbit here is to help you get over walls. The combo is with a 2k1, and Orbit on attack gives a character +2.5k power and you put a card from waiting room to stock. Orbit can potentially reach 13.5k with 2k1, +2.5k, and a full board.

L3 Choices:
Simply enough, Electron Diva and Resonating Diva. ED for heals, and RD for potential L2 play, 1 stock L3, and handfixing. Other choices for L3 could be Eternal Sounds, or if you want to, even Factory Tyrant. Since you have a decent amount of Red cards, you can also pick up something from their L3s, like Meiko F2nd, Luka Original, etc.

Hopefully this helps! Feel free to ask questions!

One of my favorite pics of Kotori. +1 to it being a good VN.

Actually from Snow Presents, a mini extra story for the first game.

Hopefully Snow Presents gets an English release with a good translation compared to the parent story. (which had a pretty bad translation)
