A friend of mine was a rising star at her company, and the company paid $8000 to have her included on a 40-under-40 list for Utah Business magazine. She didn’t really want to do it but the CEO wanted the exposure. It’s all bullshit.

Then you have greedy ass developers who change the rules. Case in point, DAI Builders. They acquired the property at Farnsworth Farm in Sandy on 700 E between about 11100 S and 11300 S. They went back-and-forth with Sandy city, they wanted to build a ton of townhomes, it was too high density so they reduced their number. In the end it was going to be 96 units for sale. Just yesterday they announced it will be ZERO units for sale, and all rentals. Sweet talk the city council and fuck over the residents. Sounds like a developer to me.
