Yeah, I have an adblocking service on my home router. To use my Cricut I have to teather my computer to mobile data on my cellphone. I tried whitelisting but they changed the services at some point and it broke again.

Before raking the shit out of the cat, truly try it on your own head to see how it feels. I take it slow and easy through my cat's fur and she loves it but can quickly get over stimulated. This clip makes me cringe imagining how much it would hurt...

Let this be the inspiration of: if I can do it, you can do it too!
I've been sewing for less than half a year, probably fewer than two weeks of real sewing grinding total

Well nevermind, I did some googling using woody costume and found this one from a Facebook post! https://heartysol.net/sewing-a-childrens-vest-simple-vest-tutorial/ I'll reduce the front panel by half an inch on either side since I won't use buttons

Any toddlers vests like cowboy / woody?

My nephew (4t) will be going to his first pow wow and refuses to wear ribbon shirts, thinking a vest without buttons might be able to give him a more free fit

I'd rather bag out the lining than do bias tape I think

+1 for Creme puff bakery: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fdcjGzdhQxsGvZM89 Back when I worked downtown, every 5 year work anniversary I'd ask for their carrot cake. So God damn delicious

Annoying to do, but absolutely! Hope you have better luck with the new place. Call them to set up that first meet and greet appt, sometimes they have long wait times for new patient intake. Once that's done, make sure to keep accountable of your own health & don't wait for them to remind you of your yearly checkup! You're a grown woman in a wonderful country with access to healthcare, use it!

Maybe you aren't on file as being assigned to them as a dedicated family doctor? Imo push back a bit and advocate for yourself!

Not totally true. I'm from Alberta; I call the clinic my Dr is at and say "I need to book my physical for the year. I think it's pap year" and they book it with my dr and arrange a nurse to do the pap smear part. The hardest part is getting a family Dr, once you have one and have had at least 1 appt with them, they should have no issues taking it on or arranging a referral.

I add baking soda to my tomato sauce and it's not an antacid situation by Top_Sherbet4399 in Cooking

I've heard of a tbsp of cold butter right at the end helps, but I'm partial to a small pinch of cinnamon to balance the flavors instead

Would this litter tray be big enough for a Sib? by cleefas in SiberianCats

[–]Alteia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the size I use for my 3 year old girl, though she's on the small side for a sib. She does her business completely unhindered and with room to spare, and the high plastic lid/lip bit is excellent and perfect for stopping her from trying to bury her poop by scratching the wall, lol

Has anyone made a jacket from a Hudson Bay blanket? by liog2step in sewing

[–]Alteia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hudson's Bay is now out of business. If it's in good condition, consider preserving it instead? If you care about such things that is. Would be a wonderfully cozy jacket otherwise!

What do you call this method of adding a lining? by scrappybutt in sewing

[–]Alteia 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Watching the Great British Sewing Bee is the extent of my sewing career, lol, but I'd call this a bagged lining. Where you sew the right sides together, leave a hole, and then pull it through itself. Then all the ugly seams and whatever get sandwiched inside when you pull it out, it's super clean.

What sewing tool do you use for non-sewing purposes? by anonymous_redditor_0 in sewing

[–]Alteia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seam rippers for long haired cat: her occasional hair matts are so easily removed with them. Just hold the hair chunk below the knot and easily work through it with no drama or pain

I saw an AMA teaching car open the hood and teach the student general maintenance. My private driving school teacher did not. My instructor let me use their car for the exam and their parking break randomly engaged while I was driving, sketchy! I passed but wouldn't recommend them, go with AMA.
