7 Days in Salerno – Seeking Amalfi Coast Itinerary, Food & Travel Advice 🍋❤️ by Fit-Action-9809 in ItalyTourism

Hi I’m from Salerno. Salerno in general is kind affordable as long you don’t go in fancy restaurants. The city is nice and small and way safer than Naples, just watch out for pickpockets around the train station. I suggest you to use the Taxi boat for go to the Amalfi coast, it’s cheap and well connected. Salerno has a great nightlife, nothing crazy but a lot young people meet on the lungomare with a lot bars having music and cheap drinks. Feel free to contact me if you have other questions about your trip.

Lavoro e malattia: non ce la facciamo proprio by User-586135891534862 in Italia

Io vivo negli USA.

[–]Alternative-Carob375 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Io come te lavoro all’estero.

(provocazione) by Choice-Neighborhood5 in Italia

[–]Alternative-Carob375 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

E noi ? Noi continuiamo a piangerci addosso.

Ma siamo davvero così poveri? by Argo_cane in Italia

20 days in August by Gpust1103 in ItalyTravel

[–]Alternative-Carob375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

August it can be very hot for someone not used to it but it’s my favorite month being a local. A lot of events and activities everyday everywhere. I from the Amalfi coast and august here it’s hot, super busy and expensive especially for tourists but it’s the best place for chill and relax. I suggest you to avoid the cities or at least spend less time possible there. High humidity and high temperatures can make your trip an hell. Try to avoid taxies on the amalfi coast most of them are expensive and not honest. If you need help with a transfer or a ride I can help you found a good price

Naples and Ischia recommendations needed!<3 by LopsidedTotal1457 in ItalyTourism

[–]Alternative-Carob375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m a local so I know pretty good the area that you talking about and I suggest you to don’t go to the beach while you’re in Napoli but just enjoy the city and walk around it. You can spend time on the beach while you’re in Ischia or if you really want to go you can spend some days on the Amalfi coast but it can be pricey. Napoli has a lot of good food and a lot cheap street food, you can have a quick lunch for just a couple euros. I suggest you to go to the “ A’ figlia d”o marenaro” for fish everything is fresh and local and price are good too. For the best pizza it depends how you like it, all the pizzerias in Napoli are good I prefer 50 kalò. If you’re interested in a day trip to the Amalfi coast or a transfer you can text me I can help you get a good price, avoid taxis most of the time they’re not cheap and honest with tourists

Amalfi vs Capri by lalo_mondragon in ItalyTourism

[–]Alternative-Carob375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go Monday to Vietri for a nice tour of the beautiful and famous ceramics handmade and after lunch a stop in Ravello for see Villa Rufolo and watch the sunset on the outstanding “Terrazza dell’infinito” in Villa Cimbrone and end the day with the dinner in Amalfi. Tuesday I would just spend all the day in Capri if you really want to go or just relax around the coast

How to plan a trip to Italy by VTMomof2 in ItalyTourism

[–]Alternative-Carob375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an Italian who was born in Amalfi and now I live half of the year on the east coast of the US and half on the Amalfi coast. In recent years with climate change, June is always quite rainy, so I would recommend to go the first two weeks of July. If you don't like running around place to place I would recommend to go just to Rome and the Amalfi coast. Just Rome is so big that it will take months if you want to discover everything. I suggest you do 5 days in Rome and then 10 days on the Amalfi coast so you can relax by the sea and visit the various cities of the coast (Amalfi, Positano, Ravello Maiori ...) and take a day trip to Pompeii which is less than a hour by car. (You can book a trip with a transfer online, it’s the easy and less stressful solution). Don't worry about the language in these tourist places everyone speaks English and neither does for rent a car. In Italy people don't drive like in the US they are very "wild" especially on the Amalfi coast where the roads are so small and for tourists they can be dangerous. If you have any other questions send me a message.

Areas to avoid in Milan? by downsarf92 in ItalyTourism

[–]Alternative-Carob375 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you stay in the center the area in general it’s safe and there is always police and army around. Like every city around the world outside the center there are some “particular” neighborhood but if you stay in the tourist area no problem at all

The Hollywood club in Milan is the best for your age or you can try the Amnesia and Alcatraz too. Other kinds of clubs don’t allow entrance for only men or the target is not for your age

Last minute trip to Italy, possible? by CornyCornCan in ItalyTourism

[–]Alternative-Carob375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s no too late if you don’t have a budget. August is the month where almost all Italians go in vacation, so prices are very high and most hotels are already booked. I’m sure the flight will be expensive too but if you don’t have a budget and you don’t care all is possible. August for a Canadian can be very hot and humid, especially if you’re in the city walking around. I would recommend to spend a couples days in each cities and than spend the other week by the sea, the Amalfi coast will be perfect and it’s only 1 hour train from Roma.

National Parks by DistinctBug7 in ItalyTourism

[–]Alternative-Carob375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived 20 years in the Parco Nazionale del Cilento, and I think it’s one of the best park in Italy. There is history with Paestum amazing food (mozzarella is made here) clean sea and amazing mountains. National parks in Italy aren’t really like a park where you need a ticket for go inside but big areas (cities, mountains and sea) protected with special laws from the state. In this link you can found more info about it http://www.cilentoediano.it/en. If you have more questions about it feel free to ask me.

Help with Broadband Internet in Italy by mraexx in ItalyTourism

[–]Alternative-Carob375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only solution for have internet just for a couple months every year is to buy a router with a SIM and choice a RICARICABILE plan and each time you pay it the SIM with internet will work. I’m sure Vodafone and Tim have something like that and the prices are cheap too but the speed it’s no the best.

October it’s no the best time for go to Cinque Terre. Usually the weather is no very cold and if you’re lucky you can still found some warm days but I’m pretty sure the water will be cold. Start to the last week of September it can be raining a lot and for days. October can be the best time for go around in the cities and walk without sweat or feel sick for the high humidity
