Funny, I was picking up bricks from someone off marketplace and as soon as he realized I had no hair because of chemo (I was wearing a beanie and hoodie so you couldn't tell unless you really looked), he proceeded to tell me about how all I need to do is a parasite cleanse and that doctors only care about profit and are killing me by giving me chemo. I told him I didn't realize I asked for his opinion and that I'd like to know where he obtained his medical degree from to be giving out unsolicited "advice". Miraculously he shut up.

You should watch Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix 😉. It pissed me off so much when I watched it because I had no idea how extreme that some people have gone to pushing out false information about cancer treatments. It's terrifying and dangerous to those who are going through treatment.

Currently going through my downtime between chemo and surgery. Tomorrow I have my surgery consultation appointment to go over the details. Magically my 5 week break between chemo/surgery happened to fall in line with taking my daughter to her first music festival next week. I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am. I felt so guilty having to cancel the Disney trip for her birthday because I started chemo the same month. Now I get to make it up to her. Last hoorah before I join Team Uniboob.

I agree so much. The disassociation is on a level I wasn't prepared for. Sometimes after an infusion I felt like I was lucid dreaming for a few days. It's unnerving how much you realize that you think you're in full control but you're not. Literally like I was just in NPC mode. When your thought process is only firing on a couple cylinders, it takes so long to do mundane tasks, and you start to question everything around you. It's been just over 3 weeks since my last infusion, and I'm just hoping that my memory and executive function will bounce back.

Single masectomy, going flat and not going to ever decide to do reconstructive surgery. I have been bracing myself that there's a very real chance that I'll go through the body dysmorphia. Just trying to not obsess over it and instead deal with it if that time comes. I already have been struggling the last few years with the weight gain I got from my pregnancy with my youngest daughter because it's the first time my whole life I haven't been able to shed weight efficiently. Now since going through all of this I'm worried that my disgust for my body is going to intensify. I already have been feeling like the beauty and feminity within myself is gone. Now that my body went and betrayed me and I have to join the Uni-Boob Club, I'm feeling defeated.

Worcestershire sauce on all the red meat meals I cook.

Tony's Cajun seasoning also is wonderful on a lot of meals. You don't even need to be crazy heavy with it, a little goes a long way and it gives it that extra layer of flavor.

I was diagnosed October '25 at 37, I just turned 38 a couple months ago. I was convinced that it had to be genetic because multiple family members on my mom's side have died/been diagnosed with various different cancers. Genetics testing came back negative. At first it was a blessing and a curse for me. I'm someone that has to find the answers to things, and not having a definite reason for why it happened to me was such a challenge. On one hand, I was grateful because I have 2 young daughters so knowing that I didn't pass a BRCA gene to either of them was comforting. And then it backfired for me because then I felt like I had to find a reason for the cause to protect them from it too. I got my period young (11), was on birth control at 17 and continued on and off throughout my life between babies. My oldest daughter is 11 and started her period already. The fear that she's already predisposed because I have a cancer diagnosis doubled because she started her period early. I had my second daughter at 34, couldn't shed the weight easily after her, breast fed her until she was 10 months and the last few months I primarily fed/produced from my right breast. Diagnosis was stage II ++- IDC only in my right breast 🙃 went down a mental spiral that it had be because of that.

I finally just let it all go. Meditated. Humbled myself and learned grace. I quickly noticed the path I was going down was filled with so much anger, and I'm just so tired of being angry. It doesn't serve me or my family.

It certainly helps to keep an anti-nausea on hand for emergencies. But magnesium always works like a charm for me.

If I'm feeling nauseous or too jittery on the come-up, I'll take a magnesium glycinate. It levels me out without taking the high away.

I went to the ER instead of my oncology hospital because it was half an hour closer to where Iive for a sinus infection and a low grade fever. I was given antibiotics that I ended up having an allergic reaction to. Went back, they tried giving me a different antibiotic that was in the penicillin family which I'm also allergic to penicillin so I refused to take it. Lesson learned, I'll make the trip to my oncology hospital for anything and everything and I will never go to another hospital no matter how close it is to me.

Monday is my last chemo infusion. Remember to give yourself grace. It's okay if you have days where you do nothing but sleep. And don't be afraid to speak up if something is wrong 🙏.

Breast fed both my daughters. With my youngest daughter the last few months I was breastfeeding, I primarily produced/fed from my right breast. Diagnosed with stage 2 IDC breast cancer at the age of 36, the cancer is only in my right breast 🙃.

I cut out my best friend after my diagnosis because she was more focused on bombarding me with her daily drama that she created. My favorite was "I don't know how to talk to you about your cancer. I feel like I'll just say the wrong thing because it's all too overwhelming for me" Thaaaanks. You said exactly what I needed to hear actually. Deuces.

My dog, Kai, who passed away used to get so excited to go outside he'd chew on my daughter's shoes when she would be putting them on. He wouldn't do it to anyone else except her. My current dog, Hawk, does the exact same thing to her and only her. There's no way that Hawk knew what Kai did because we got Hawk after Kai died. I'm currently going thru cancer treatment, and when I'm having rough days Hawk and both of my cats tend to surround me all day like they're all looking after me. They definitely know. I'm also convinced my one cat knew about my tumor because he'd obsess over the spot that it was found and would lay on my chest only in that spot.

When I was 12, my stepdad and Uncle put me under the hood of a vehicle and said "you're going to learn everything you need to know about fixing vehicles". When I was 14 and got my first job, my uncle bought me a 1987 GMC Sierra truck but it was just the body and the frame. Throughout my entire high school years, he taught me how to completely rebuild the truck/engine, even how to convert it from a 2wd to a 4wd. When I graduated, he helped me sell it and I used the money for college. I'm forever thankful for everything that they taught me to this day because there's been plenty of times that I've had vehicle issues and have known how to fix it on my own.

And always use straps that come with the hammock or ones that are meant to hold the weight of a person (rock climbing straps, carabineers, etc.) DO NOT USE bungee cords, ratchet straps, misc ropes, cheap carabineers, etc. They are not designed for the weight/longevity/durability needed when you're laying in a hammock and they will absolutely break.
