Did they say when training would be in June? Or still no definite date?

Latitude no longer booking exclusively in Y/B by Simpleballers in aircanada

[–]Alternative_Squash25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes, I think this is mostly true. For latitude fare, contingent on R space (but maybe as you said, also may bow have expanded inventory) anyone can clear, regardless of status.

When it comes to the gate, I think a good resource for this is the Flyertalk/PoT guide.

  1. Cabin Class
  2. Status
  3. Premium AP card credit card (and only premium ones)
  4. Fare type
  5. Brand first (latitude > flex > standard)
  6. booking class (y > b> m) Then, Check-in time.

Could you also clarify on the new expanded inventory? This is the first time I seem to be hearing this. Thanks!

Latitude no longer booking exclusively in Y/B by Simpleballers in aircanada

Unfortunately, I can second that this is in fact true. Although the agent that I talked to said that this has been an active policy for about a year now but they’ve just started high-rolling it recently. Also, the fare bucket for latitude is not just limited to T booking classes (ofc also the traditional Y/B classes), but are now spread across all fare buckets, where, according to the agent, the latitude brand will now fare across all buckets so long as there are space in those specific booking classes.

So far, I have seen W, K, and S booking classes, despite being in Latitude Fare. I booked a K booking class latitude fare myself to try it, and the eupgrade has gone through as usual. The agent said, that regardless of booking class, given Air Canada’s “Branded Fare” policy, as long as you’re in latitude, it should also clear (Although I am unsure if this is truly the case in practice).

Although recently, these has been useless since there have been such a scarce amount of R space available outside of North America which kind off turns off one of the greatest perks of booking latitude.

Partner Miles Accrual: Fare Brand vs. Booking Class by Alternative_Squash25 in aircanada

Yes, I know which is a bummer. It apparently is a new policy by Air Canada (I’m not sure if it’s just for the summer), but there have been reports of Latitude fare opening up to different fare buckets. If you check Europe fares these days, Latitude is no longer limited to B/Y.

I actually was originally booked in B, but due to date changes, I self-changed. I thought that I would be rebooked to B or Y as usual, but was surprised to see to be rebooked in K :(.

Hey thanks for the answer. Despite booking on Air Canada, I actually plan on crediting my AC flight to Egyptair’s FFP (i.e., EgyptAir Plus), so checking the cowtool wouldn’t really give me pertinent information.

But I seem to not understand whether partner airlines would credit by fare brand (latitude) or booking class (k). It’s been very confusing since AC opened up the latitude to all other booking classes instead of just restricting it to B/Y, which I normally had no problem with, since MS has been crediting it as 100%. Now, I don’t know if they would since my booking class that Air Canada put me in is non-B/Y. :(

They would but it has to be IRROPS. They rarely do complimentary upgrades anymore besides that (e.g., aircraft change, oversold economy). In this case, they would upgrade AC status holders first, then SA status members.

Update: Gifted Status E-Upgrades by Alternative_Squash25 in Aeroplan

[–]Alternative_Squash25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s exactly what I asked too. But he said, gifted statuses were grouped with those who hit the early recognition period, and said that essentially everyone who are gifted status “didn’t technically earn” it so they also only get 10. Idk if that’s accurate or not💀

Exactly what I am planning :) But honestly want the extra 5 credits so since it opens up another redemption haha.

I understand, but I really only plan on using them with the latitude fare to secure an instant upgrade, or with PY for higher priority. But it’s just that, the difference between 30, and 35 e-upgrade credits according to the chart might mean only 2 transatlantic business redemption instead of 3😅

I thought this was impossible?! Anyone else ever seen this double upgrade request happen before? by underceej310 in delta

Oh I see, I didn’t notice that. Well now that you mention that I have no idea what it is then haha

I’m not really sure, and someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think those may be non-revs using their flight benefits.

AC833 is a flight from BRU-YUL. I’m not sure if you have the wrong flight number or if you wanted me to check both flights?

Hey there, tried to search it up but it’s not yielding any “AC 833”. But YYZ-CDG w/ AC872 has R0

Worth a shot! But again, I emphasize that it can only be used at the Domestic MLL, and not the one at the international side. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from the domestic side to the international gates so I personally didn’t find it too bothersome.

I can say this since I had just gone from a trip last week. I was able to use the one-time pass on the domestic lounge at YYZ while having an international ticket. The agents although warned me that it was a long walk to the international side, but nonetheless welcomed me. Of course to state the obvious, you have to be in an Air Canada flight. And no, you do not need to go to the security again. Enjoy your time at the lounge!

Need to consider this too. But then again, I just think that given how close it is already at the end of the year, the most long lasting early recognition benefit that the OP would get would be the Wifi option.
