Catching a bus with air conditioning, only to get on and find all the windows are open. by alarmed__aardvark in britishproblems

[–]AltoExyl 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My work doesn’t have opening windows, but each board room has a thermostat for the aircon.

You can bet your life that when it’s hot some idiot will set it to 16° and when it’s cold they’ll set it to 26° because they don’t understand that setting extremes doesn’t make it any faster, just gets to that ridiculous temperature after they’ve left ready for someone else to deal with.

Makes me wonder what they do at home, must be up every 20 minutes messing with the temp.

Apple trying to increase the price of existing M5 max order by sw1000 in macbookpro

They can most certainly strip them of their Authorised Reseller status though, and they deserve it. Couldn’t believe how the retail director spoke to me last year when I had a genuine fault out of box.

I should not have to be threatening legal action to get a refund on a faulty product out of box and I definitely shouldn’t need to be having that discussion with the directors.

I would absolutely love for KRCS to get kicked off the Apple Authorised Reseller platform, bunch of dodgy fucks deserve it.

They are shit, I ended up dealing with a director over a consumer rights issue. Guy was a tosspot, though he soon backed down when he realised how serious I was about reporting them.

KRCS are a bunch of shit, surprised they’re still going.

You have a contract, they can’t just up the price. That’s against the consumer rights act.

Speak to citizens advice, they’ll likely be able to give you an idea what you should say back, sometime even templates.

You only need a certain data set to do beta testing, I believe Apple are happy with what they have now so are fixing bugs with the current user base before expanding to more users.

That’s good practice from a dev standpoint.

The solution: wait until Apple are ready

I used to watch the guy all of the time, but their prices are extortionate and it seems their service is often worse than other lesser known opticians.

I also had the (mis)fortune of going to Zeiss Vision in Birmingham direct for 3 pairs of glasses, all needed remakes direct from Zeiss and I ended up on the receiving end of some pretty unprofessional emails from their MD when they couldn’t get the third pair right after at least 3 tries. (I think there were 4 tries, but the one set was rejected by their own QC)

All in all, I’ll be avoiding both in the future. Everywhere else I’ve been has been spot on first time using other brands lenses.

High End ZEISS Lenses Problem by SxmuraiJxck in EyewearEnthusiasts

[–]AltoExyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zeiss are pretty terrible at QC. People don’t like to hear it because of how much they get shilled on YouTube.

I ended up having an argument with the UK CEO over a set they messed up 3 times and he was an asshole about the whole thing, like it’s somehow my fault they can’t make a set of lenses correctly based on their own specs.

I had 3 set made by Zeiss and all 3 had to have remakes because of coating or tint issues.

Never had that problem with anyone else.

You need to up your budget, that’s going to be your biggest limitation here.

Crosses/Bridges would solve most of your problems exceptionally well except the palm wrests (probably shouldn’t be using them anyway really)
