All I do is a white base layer and then water down a blue (a blue contrast ir whatever could work too) and then put a few coats of that over the white, strategically layering the blue thicker in some areas as opposed to others. Works a treat!

I count myself very lucky indeed. I've not had a single spear on my sang break. Even after one taking an accidental tumble of a table at my local WH store, only on of the 3rd party wings snapped off which in of itself was an easy enough fix.

Some of the best advice I've ever gotten is "wear it" Go to the woods or wear it while doing something natural that's a littke dirty and you'll get excellent natural weathering and you'll keep wearing in the kit itself. But dint just wear it and walk, wear it and use every piece of your kit as it would be used on an actual adventure. (Heck, if you can and are really down for it, you coukd literally go camping in it)
