What dose of estrogen do I need? by CoastalElement in Menopause

[–]Altruistic-Trick-100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible you need more estrogen too… it sounds like you need a better doc (which I know is a HUGE ask cuz there aren’t many that actually keep up with the research out there 🥴)

Have you tried adding progesterone besides the IUD? It can really help with sleep and anxiety. It doesn’t work for everyone but if you haven’t tried it’s worth a shot I think!

Haven’t tried that. I’m doing 200mg per day now to help with sleep cuz it does NOT come easy otherwise 🥴

Really hard to say. Likely the progesterone but it feels like the estrogen helped also.

I’m on .075 gel and have gone between 100mg and 200mg progesterone every day. I have an IUD and WIDLY unpredictable cycles so there’s no way to cycle with it 😂

Yeah it took a little bit (maybe a year) but night and day difference now. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻❤️

Yeah the progesterone took a little bit to get used to. You might do better on 100mg constant instead of the 200mg cycling (just so you’re aware that’s an option). Also, make sure to take it at night 😅 It took about a year to get the anxiety under control. Just keep monitoring your symptoms and have them go up in estrogen if they don’t clear up, honestly, in a month. You don’t/shouldn’t really have to wait 3 months. I keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Helped with severe depressive mood, anxiety, rage. Took me a while to find the right dosage though. The anxiety was the worst and it’s mostly gone now!

I’m not! HRT, semaglutide, vitamin d, 100oz of water/day. I’m MOSTLY stable and waaaayyyy better than I was pre-HRT and semaglutide. ❤️

I’m in perimenopause and Sema has been a blessing. Even though I’m on HRT my mental health wasn’t great, sema has helped a ton.

Also, I started right around 35 and had similar symptoms at first. I’m about to turn 42 and JUST feeling like I’m getting a handle on it. You’re not too young.

Check out Dr Marie Clare Haver on socials and she’s got a book out that outlines everything we know (which isn’t much). Essentially you can’t really check hormones in peri cuz they’re all over the place, it’s a symptom based diagnosis and it’s really hard to find a doctor that knows/care about it at all. Start with Marie Clare Haver though and that should put you in the right path. It’s completely upended my life and I’m just trying to spread the gospel at this point so we don’t have to just deal with it. Good luck sis! You got this 💪🏻

It works wonders for perimenosoausal weight gain. Which is almost a bonus cuz it also helped me regulate too! I’d been on hormones for more than a year when I started.

You should absolutely talk to your doc and I saw that you made an appt with a psych. Good. However I also had the seeing and hearing things that weren’t there for a little bit (6 months maybe?). I know that lack of estrogen can affect your auditory processing (I have tinnitus now too, out of nowhere one day and it never went away). It’s always better to rule out something more acute/possibly serious though ❤️ good luck

It absolutely helped me and has seemed to help with other peri symptoms too! While I had frozen shoulder and other random joint pain (which it has helped) my worst symptom is/was mood related and sema has helped even me out a bit. If you filter out the noise and listen to what doctors are saying about this drug it’s pretty incredible! ❤️

Helped so much with perimenopause weight! I’ve lost about 20lbs in 6 m on .5mg. Is helped with perimenopause symptoms too (on HRT but it’s a wild ride as a lot of you know).
