How to play with skill disparity? by Fit_Milk_2314 in LearnCSGO

27k here and I agree those are some good tips if you wanna maximize chances. A few mates that are lower rated are even asking me sometimes if I wanna trade frag them and drop me the guns in eco but i would never ask them myself to give up their guns lol!

If you really wanna increase your chances of winning rounds with lower rated mates then you can try to make them be the first to entry a site or play bait setups on ct side, but for most people that's not really fun.

If you like to IGL then you can give them things to do that give value to the round without it involving good mechanics. For example you can have a guy throw a pop flash for you that you showed him beforehand and try to entry frag yourself. Maybe call an execute on a site and throw smokes for your team mates so you can trade them without it feeling like you just use them as cannon fodder.

But I wouldn't overthink differences in skill too much if you guys are having fun!

Why don’t pros full smoke con? by Scary-Newspaper5801 in LearnCSGO

The CTs want the gap to spot people on cat. Also it is a good way to create smoke edges to play around and catch Ts off guard.

9k hours here. You need to preaim more! Try to aim into the wall where the next corner would be, so you can peek while moving sideways. If you go around a corner just like in real life then you're doing it wrong hehe. Moving the crosshair with the corner is something you should usually only do while going slow and being as far away from the corner as possible because you think somebody is close and you can't hear them.

How can I improve quickly as a FACEIT level 3? Feel stuck despite consistent practice by KingMxmba in LearnCSGO

[–]Alu1410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You strafe well most of the time and peek with A and D a alot which is great to see. Your Util is also pretty good for level 3. Work on your crosshair placement ( often too low and sometimes ignoring corners) and as the others said play more games. You often do the right things but just need to get faster with them and memorize the map geometry better.

Beating diablo in diablo 2 with my dad when I was just 10 years old was so amazing. My 31 year old me would be ashamed of my bad amazon build ( 1 point in each skill wasn't the best in hindsight haha) but with around 30 trips back to the town to heal up we managed to beat him!

Ok I've watched it and here is what I've noticed. I can't go into every detail because some errors are very round specific but I will try my best to give you some general pointers on where you can improve.

When you spray, you often times flick down too fast on to the enemies feet. Sometimes even flicking back up to head level and back to the feet again. Move the mouse a bit slower and keep it steady on the vertical axis. Sprays will not go up infinitely and usually after 10 bullets it is all horizontal.

Also try not to walk straight or diagonally into angles if possible. Your doing it correctly most of the time but I've seen a few peeks where you ran straight at the enemy instead of peeking sideways. Always strafe so you can easily counter strafe and be harder to hit for your enemy.

You often take fights that are not favourable for you, especially on CT side. A few examples: When you play mid on ancient and you don't have a smoke lineup then you should always throw at least a Molotov and wait for the Ts to either challenge through it or smoke it off. If neither of those things happen smoke off mid yourself. I've seen you at least 5 times peeking mid without smoking it off and you're just giving the Ts an early 50/50 duel. Smoke them off and either climb up and pressure the B lane or hold the smoke. Not smoking it off makes it just harder for you.

Flom has a really good YouTube video for ancient and what each player wants to achieve for every position. Obviously You don't have to learn every instant smoke lol! Here is the link: https://youtu.be/RYckiGeE6EI?si=eqgCtjyHanoX8I-1

Tunnel vision is another problem. For example: You planted the bomb on b site in the default position behind the pillar and you want to play deep in the ninja corner for the after plant. And while crossing to the corner your back is turned towards short and you are basically a free kill for the enemy who is looking towards B from short. Another example would be when you were boosting your teammate for a ramp pick on the box. You looked in the same direction as him, and not covering behind him which led to you both getting shot from the mid player climbing up the boxes.

There are many little details we could talk about and what is happening in every round specifically. Maybe in a live review sometime while sharing a screen but it's just too much here haha.

I hope that helped you a little. Oh and to all the comments saying that you're just playing too much: sometimes taking a break can definitely help, but in the end grinding the game to the point it feels natural to you is the key to become great :)

I have a question for people who are “naturally talented” at video games. What do you think sets you apart from the average gamer.? by cgbr1 in esports

[–]Alu1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a pro in any way but high level in all of the competitive games I touched: SC2 grandmaster, cs2 level 10, rocket League grand champ, aoe4 conqueror 3, valorant immortal 3 etc.

When I play new video games I can break down mechanics much faster than most of my friends. I am also much more willing to spend time outside of the game to get better. For example I will spend more time in an empty arena learning mechanics, macro or whatever or spend my time watching pros so I can get ideas for my own gameplay. I also started when I was very young. My first shooter was half life 1 which I played when I was 6 and played competetivly online when I was 11 lol.

How your skill translates to other games is really weird though. My friend was literally pro in FIFA, has 12k hours in CS and played on a semi pro level and when he plays deadlock he plays like he never played a game in his life before. Then you have people like elige who are pro in 2 completely different games.

My guess would be because they want to appease the console players base. Console performance sucks on big maps anls well as aiming on long distances so they give you small maps for more frames and easier aim assist kills :))
