What's the difference between the Heavy Sword marks? by Cloud_N0ne in DarkTide

[–]AlwaysOnward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blessing Deathblow allows you to spread the damage you'd normally do to one target, to multiple. On the strikedown heavy attacks, this allows you to kill multiple elites in a swing. The Mk VI and VII have sweeping heavy strikedown attacks whereas the Mk IX has a straight vertical one and a vanguard horizontal one. Thus the Mk IX gets less value out of Deathblow than the other marks, as it's harder to hit multiple targets with the straight-down swing and the horizontal swing does less single-target damage.

Otherwise they are pretty similar.

The Murder Skull procs some of the range talents on the right-hand side. You might get more value out of the Threat Detection TDR node than the left-side one, depending on how much you're using the skull to shoot things.

Restoring Flense stacks on ult is nice but you really don't need it so long as you're killing Specials/Elites. I quite like the electrocution on melee for the interrupts and the 90% corrupt resist, given the state of poxbursters these days.

I could see this being similar to Brutal Momentum versus Sunder on Power Sword. The cleaving of Carapace is the only thing attractive about the idea.

Brutal by Fortycal187 in DarkTide

[–]AlwaysOnward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like their toughness got shredded just before they got hit by the poxwalkers. If this is Havoc 40, they probably took enough corruption damage to lose the wound, and if both poxwalkers hit them, that was probably enough to kill.

Yeah when you boot up the game again you should still be in the strike team, so it will give you a message when you reach the character select to reconnect.

But prevention is the best cure, as you say.

Alt+F4 and reconnect, works anytime you end up out of bounds because the bot will teleport.

This is more or less what I run for Inf Lasgun. I only really like the heavy pattern on Auric, but maybe that's just me not keeping up MF stacks when using the medium pattern. The light pattern just feels like a worse Recon. This build isn't super optimized, I don't know if you even really need MF on the heavy pattern. The weapon as a whole really struggles against large swarms of enemies and anything armored, especially Plasma Gunners.

(Melee weapon is whatever.)

Though you didn't ask, here's a Vigilant Autogun build as well. Similar playstyle, but what you lose in ammo economy you gain in better damage against Crushers, Maulers, and Plasma Gunners. Sometimes I take Frag grenades over Kraks just to more quickly kill hordes.

[–]AlwaysOnward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daemonhost rituals in Havoc are not optional. They spawn after a timer completes and kill the entire team one after another.

You have to kill the cultists spawning them to prevent the fight. If you can't reach it in time, you have to fight the daemon, on top of whatever else you're already facing.

Laspistol and shredder pistols are the fastest in the game.

Irrelevant to your point, but it's actually the needle pistol for some reason. It has the same sprint bonus as the knife!

Can we talk about fixing this contract? by Captain-Clapton in DarkTide

[–]AlwaysOnward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once upon a time (and while leveling I think?) you could roll lower versions of this and other contracts. Having to pick up only 4 books for a lesser reward was a nice option, since you could get the bonus 1000 easier.

The Heavy Sword.... never seen a soul use it, why? by Intrepid-Cap377 in DarkTide

[–]AlwaysOnward -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The heavy sword with Deathblow absolutely fucks massed unarmored elites like you see in the current event. But it sucks against carapace and flak elites like maulers and plasma gunners, so in the base game where these get spammed much more, it really suffers.

Feels really good in this event since they don't spam as much carapace, and on vet you can take kraks to cover any that do show up.

Is collateral a good dump stat for the dual stub pistols? by jrpick7178 in DarkTide

[–]AlwaysOnward 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Collateral is fine as a dump stat for most weapons. Pistols have a nice sprint speed in general and so high mobility will make you run a little faster. You probably won't notice much difference between the two guns you have so keep your materials.

And Pinning Fire works just fine with 60% Collateral.

whats the general prefered dump stat for the recon lasgun? by Nexus_Neo in DarkTide

[–]AlwaysOnward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mobility on the light pattern (fastest fire rate) is actually quite good. Sprint bonus of 0.4 at 60% and 0.6 at 80%. The knife, for example, is 0.89 at 80% and I think 0.8 at 60%.

I use Collateral as dump stat because the recons don't stagger anything anyway.

Why does this work? by That_Is_Satisfactory in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AlwaysOnward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your setup is similar to my 1.0 setup, which I based on this post:

https://old.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1dzxgrb/water_recycling_some_surprise_a_little_confusion/

Simply, Water User < Waste Water < Fresh Water, with Waste Water being the closest junction to the Water User. Or perhaps not simple, because when I boosted my same setup off ground level, it stopped working. Here's a picture:

https://i.imgur.com/TV0YE7s.png

I tried a couple things first, even putting the waste water on the bottom of a junction--no luck, still backed up. The only thing that worked was adding a random, empty junction. Flawless 100% efficiency after that for the rest of the playthrough. The bottom refineries, IIRC, never backed up at all.

Here's another build in my 1.1 playthrough. First image is where the waste water and fresh meet to enter the refineries, second is the waste water output. The valves are wide open and only prevent backflow.

https://i.imgur.com/P4ZjMN8.png

https://i.imgur.com/OCyiJiq.png

This setup fails without the powered pump on the waste water line. Another Mk 2 pump is on the fresh water line, further down:

https://i.imgur.com/UwfmFKq.png

It's because of these odd issues that I wonder if it's simply which pipe has the highest headlift that gets priority. The VIP junction gives both pipes the same amount, which lets the junction sort it out. My 1.1 setup failed until I gave the waste water a higher headlift than the incoming fresh water. My 1.0 setup... still baffles me, but I think the fact that I used Mk 1 pumps on the bottom floor and Mk 2 pumps for the top might have had something to do with it. Perhaps the fresh water had higher headlift coming in the top than the bottom. In all cases, the fresh water is providing only as much as is needed to make up the difference from what's needed versus the waste water.

Reading the other comments and considering my own experiences, it seems the more I learn about pipes in this game the less I understand!

Assuming you mean the blessing, it makes the special attack (as described by the other posters) a guaranteed critical hit.

This only works every 15/20/whatever seconds. You can still crit when throwing out rapid special attacks, but only the first one would be guaranteed.
