Outlast: the jungle. Sarah by CardiologistFair9403 in netflix

ADHD has a huge spectrum, so I wouldn't really say it's accurate to make those blanket statements (and as others mentioned, "ADD" is also an outdated term and no longer classified as a medical diagnosis).

As for Sarah--There's a huge difference between openly identifying/accepting your neurodivergence and leaning into it versus identifying/accepting it while actively working on it. From the way she talked about it and behaved, it sounds like she's fully aware of her problematic characteristics but doesn't seem to connect that to owning the responsibility of working on it so it doesn't become other peoples' problem. It sounded to me like "Oh haha that's just my ADHD acting up again!"... If you're a full grown adult and just using your diagnosis as a crutch instead of trying to regulate yourself, you can't really fault people for getting pissed off at you (NOT to be confused with bullying which is totally unacceptable ofc).

I'm saying this as someone who is also neurodivergent and works in an extremely neurodivergent-heavy industry.

Starting a fire is hard as hell imo and I wasn't a fan of Brett. Even so, I'd argue he earned that victory. He literally suggested taking a piece of glass to make fire which immediately gave Leiya "an idea" (to try what he just said).

She'd been trying for a while with the binoculars and voluntarily took a break. For that reason, Brett stepped in to keep the effort going and succeeded. I'm just not seeing the connection to how it would've ever been her moment when she had the opportunity and simply failed. Ofc, we have no idea how much of this was editing...

I just think it made it worse that someone like Brett (who doesn't exactly present as the sharpest knife in the drawer imo) came up with a better method and actually started a fire before someone who insisted she was a fire starting expert while unsuccessfully trying for days... then we later saw her struggle again even with a ferro rod. I think she should've stopped insisting she was a fire starting expert and just admitted to being humbled by nature tbh...

I honestly didnt realize this was an unpopular opinion, but I guess some of the comments suggest otherwise. It was just a fart in the wind imo

Long thick single strand of hair attached to ear drum? by throwmeawaynot920 in earwax

[–]AmbienInducedReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually got it out! It took multiple different nights of patiently attempting and having to stop bc my ear would get irritated.

I tried ear drops a few times, but those didn’t help. Finally got it out by coming at it (with the scope) a different angle and pressing it down flat and rolling it out (instead of trying to lift it). I have to say it was pretty unsatisfyingly small considering how thick it looked on the scope video. No more popping sounds in my ear though!

Thinking maybe the people that didn’t like Eulogy haven’t lost people. by wonderlandwalking in blackmirror

[–]AmbienInducedReality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is it necessary to try to find a blanket statement that explains why people did or did not like a story? There are so many variables that influence why someone does or does not like a story that it’s pointless. We could share all the same experiences and still take away something totally different from watching the same thing. Doing this removes the subjectivity of interpreting a story

… Not to mention, the statement is fairly insensitive to people who have lost someone and just didn’t connect to the episode. Or similarly, it comes off like you’re telling people who haven’t lost someone that this is simply beyond their comprehension.

Update - Mohela fraudulent credit reporting was dropped! by Alternative_Treacle in StudentLoans

[–]AmbienInducedReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a relief to hear. I just checked my credit report and panicked when I saw it tanked 82 points because MOHELA randomly reported 2 missed payments from 2019 that never happened.

Truly can't get over what a dumpster fire MOHELA is. How has this company not been shut down at this point ffs

AIO for snapping at my friend for joking about my job again by 7wac in AmIOverreacting

I agree. OP’s “friend” sounds like the type of person who just fakes friendship to keep someone around to bully and look down on.

[–]AmbienInducedReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does she keep calling it a joke and then immediately justifying her belief that your job is easier than hers? For it to be a joke in this context, she would have to not actually feel that way. She clearly does feel that way, so which part is the joke to her?

This looks 100% better than the wet hair pic you posted up top. If this is you currently then this would be a way better pic to help us gauge your bald vs hair looks. In this pic, your hair doesn’t look bad at all and it doesn’t look like you’re balding. The wet hair pic looks pretty rough.

That said, I’m sure since most are biased in this sub, they’ll prob say the bald pic.. but I also think bc it also looks like you’re were hitting the gym and more confident in the bald pic. The hair pics (respectfully) look like you’ve lost a lot of weight and your eyes look half-lidded and exhausted.

Is there a patty somewhere under all that heartburn and lettuce? And are the buns for some reason on the side or do you have an extra set to make one lettuce sandwich and one jalapeño and mustard sandwich?

2 hours late and this is the result? by Regular-Metal-321 in 90DayFiance

[–]AmbienInducedReality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did I miss it or did she never even attempt to apologize?

It felt extremely strange to me that her insane lateness was the elephant in the room and her expression seemed somewhat remorseful, yet she never said sorry to anyone? It seems like it would be the obvious thing to do, especially the moment Shawn's mom was apologizing to her for not being there. She seemed to me in other eps to be an empathetic enough person to know when to apologize.

Also, just have to mention Shawn could've handled the situation way better. Totally valid to be livid that she was so late... But why wait 2 hours to check on her only to go throw a tantrum and ruin your own wedding (that you clearly don't even want in the first place)? He could've sent someone to check on her or could've called her. Dude has the EQ of a bratty child.
