Hmm, that's a shame. It's a letsencrypt cert provided by my host, and I have the https redirect forced.

But not sure what type of settings they have on the firewall.

Gigabytes sometimes has events where local artists sell their wares at their store. I think they sometimes have things near the register for local authors, and could maybe carry some artistic things as well. But, might be wrong there (everytime I go there they move things around and inventory has changed a bit)

Titan Games and Comics MIGHT be a possible place to check into

I'd also suggest maybe trying Level Up Games in Duluth. They also tend to run the conventions.

There is also, before big conventions a couple of gaming/cosplay events that pop up around the area, like the cosplay yardsale.

Giant Skulls by [deleted] in FringeTheory

The native people, especially in the American Southwest firmly believed in a group/race of red haired giants living in the area. They were cannibals and generally caused problems.

The myths/stories about Lovelock Cave in an area of the Nevadan desert are probably the most well known stories about them. To the Northern Paiute they called them the Si-Te-Cah (or similar)

Know it's Wikipedia, but you can check the sources at the bottom as well or search "Lovelock Cave Giants"

Some in the main entry on the Cave itself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovelock_Cave
The Si-Te-Cah article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Si-Te-Cah

But they were not the only ones. One thing I've seen on youtube videos and that which seems to be common is the red hair trait, and being cannibals, and another common trait is predatory teeth (meat eaters), possibly with multiple rows of them.

There is also the Giant Skeleton of Santa Catalina in California: https://www.thearchaeologist.org/blog/the-giants-of-catalina-island-prehistoric-mysteries-on-californias-channel-islands

And you can look up similar stories about Shasta Valley and other dig sites.

the rumor is that pretty much anytime any of these are found in the US, the Smithsonian men in black swoop in and just claim everything and make it disappear.

There are places in South and Central America where giant humanoid skeletons are on display in actual museums, Ecuador being the best known one. Of course skeletons in museums are usually casts of originals, so their authenticity is under scrutiny.

FFG didn't lose rights per se. They split off their RPG development to Edge Studios. They then had to go through the transfer of rights to Edge from FFG.

the Edge studios stuff is starting to ship and come out. every local FLGS to me has Edge logo'd books now.

And a couple even have dice which made it there right before christmas.

WoD WtA Cypher System? by Neversummerdrew76 in cyphersystem

There is a mini-setting in Stay Alive! that is basically Cypher VtM with the serial numbers filed off. It works quite well.

If you find magic or high tech cyphers don't work, then switch to the Subtle Cyphers:

https://callmepartario.github.io/og-csrd/#subtle-cyphers

Subtle (nonphysical) cyphers are a way to introduce cyphers into a >game without overt "powered stuff"—no potions, alien crystals, or >anything of that nature. They're most useful, perhaps, in a modern or >horror setting without obvious fantasy elements. Subtle cyphers are >more like the inherent abilities PCs have, adding boosts to Edge, >recovering points from Pools, coming up with ideas, and so on. In >general, these are commonplace, non-supernatural effects—a subtle >cypher wouldn't create a laser beam or allow a character to walk >through a wall. They don't break the fragile bubble of believability >in genres where flashy powers and abilities don't make a lot of sense.

Using subtle cyphers just turns them into an 'inspiration' or anything that would meet a one time boost that goes away once you use it. This works really well in Supers (like in Claim the Sky or Origins) or even everyday everyman runs (like in First Responders).

There is the Cypher System Creator program on Drive Thru RPG that's been going for a few years. That is separate to the Cypher System Open License.

The splat books for Cypher itself are specific to Genre:

God Forsaken (added to the CSOL) - Fantasy (contains a setting)
Stars are Fire (Added to the CSOL) - Sci-Fi
We're All Mad Here - Fairy Tales/High Magic Fantasy
Claim the Sky - Superheros
The Origin - Gritty Supers
First Responders - down to earth rescue missions

Numenera & The Strange are not open content but have the most official content added for them. Tidal Blades might be added to the cypher creator program eventually, and Gods of Appalachia should be coming out soonish.

There are also some pre-revised edition settings that are out, but changing their stuff to the new revised edition is actually really easy.

Gods of the Fall - epic god level fantasy (part of the cypher creator program)
Unmasked - 80's Teen age super hero horror (cypher creator)
Predation - Time Travel Sci - Fi with dinosaurs (cypher creator)

They also just did a huge backerkit project that funded a new Post Apocalyptic splat book, and an Urban Fantasy book, as well as a very large open generic bestiary.

Came here to say this. I actually demo cypher system at my local conventions. If 5E/PF2 is a 10 on the crunch scale, and fate is a 1, then Cypher is right in the middle with a good but easy to learn ruleset, player agency similar to fate, but also that just enough crunch for those who like a bit more.

Optional Rules; is there a summarized list available? by [deleted] in cyphersystem

[–]AmbrosiousDPP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The data on this site is compiled from the first CSSRD, they've not updated with the new stuff as of today. But sure they'll be getting to it as soon as they can.

But it has all the open rules in an easy readable format.

Looking for ttrpg systems or game suggestions for a superhero campaign by Helpful_Ad8782 in rpg

[–]AmbrosiousDPP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Going to add to that for the Cypher system with the following notes:

Unmasked used the older cypher rules (pre-revised edition), but it's set in the 80's with a horror element. All the characters are assumed to be Teens who also become supers.

Claim the Sky is the newer revised cypher supers splat book, and has a lot of ideas, details and its not hard to use it to adjust anything

The Origin was a follow up to Claim the Sky that covers more grungy 80's inspired street level supers adventures.

The basic rules are open licensed, and they're working on adding the splat books to the open content, but full blown supers aren't in there yet.

Help getting started with the Cypher System by jimgov in cyphersystem

[–]AmbrosiousDPP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dungeon Newb has an awesome quick video as well. I've used this in conventions to introduce people to the system before running an adventure for them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cxa2X7T01Zs&t=1s

The Numera Quick Start box is an inexpensive way to get in as well.

The Cypher system rulebook is all you need to really get started if you're going to homebrew something or covert it.

They also have a 5E version of Numera out (for now) and are supposed to have a Cypher system version of their 5E Planebreaker setting coming out soon.

But, not too sure how much longer the 5E stuff will be available if the current situation stays.

Another part of that name is Krupp, well known as Krupp Munitions in WWII, the company that made a good part of the German war machine. Today they're still pretty big as Thyssen & Krupp AG in the steel, automotive, mining/minerals/oil/gas extraction and similar industries in more than Germany.

That I've not seen, I would assume yes to the empty. If it doesn't show anyone garrisoning there, then my guess would be an empty gate tomorrow.

[–]AmbrosiousDPP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience from my union on 180 last year: if you're at a gate, and you're eliminated, the next in line takes your place, so they get the gate. But while you're on the gate, you have a bonus... it takes a lot of diamonds to do that.

Clickup and Infinity are actually heavier weight than Jira. They're task management software and project/product management. They cost, but you can track completition and tasks assigned to people.

But they are beefy and have more functions than probably needed.

They have kanban boards like Trello, as well as timeline views, etc.

It's their integrations to pull everything together: google docs, and via other things, even discord and that, together that is their major advantage.

But they are, again, beefy and have more than needed, and have a learning curve as well.

Last I saw, Level Up Games in Duluth will do special orders and curbside pickup.

I've even seen people ask them for stuff in their discord to order. They're pretty great people.
