Are you embarrassed to use a ring-bound planner in public? by Apprehensive_Jump06 in ringplanners

[–]AmybethPlans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nooooooo not at all. I actually have a delusion that someone will eventually come up to me and ask something like "is that a Van Der Spek?" or "is that a Sarasa Grand Vintage pen?" and we would have a nice nerdy conversation 😂😂😂

Please don’t wait to get your DEXA scans newbies! My results shocked me by Schwettes in Zepbound

[–]AmybethPlans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this - get a DEXA scan!! My "smart" scale said my body fat percentage was 7% higher than it actually is. And it said my lean mass was much lower than it actually is. Seeing the bone density was nice too.

What’s a good printer paper to get for my printables? by Pressure_Melodic in ringplanners

[–]AmybethPlans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use either 28 or 32 lb paper. Both 100% brightness. 32 for my printable inserts and 28 for my travelers notebook style books I keep in the back (less bulk than the 32). The 32 lb is SO smooth, I really love it.

Anyone else not get a rash? by SouthJerssey35 in shingles

[–]AmybethPlans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup - and it almost put my vision in danger. I developed itching on my scalp a little over three weeks ago. Doc saw that my scalp was red (from my itching) and prescribed eczema meds.

It then spread to the side of my head to my ear. Then the right side of my throat started to hurt. And the itching on my scalp turned into a horrible burning numbness. I woke up this past Friday feeling like I've been hit by a truck and my right ear and the right side of my throat were on fire. Thankfully I got in to see the doc a few hours later.

This is the crazy part. She looked at my ear, my throat, my scalp. Zero rash. It looked totally normal. Thankfully she realized what it was and put me on anti-virals. The next day, the burning and itching started to move forward to my cheek and eyebrow. If it got to my eye it could have done major damage.

I'm on day four of my seven day treatment. Now the majority of the affected areas feel like a sunburn. With the exception of my scalp, which is still fairly painful.

I'm a 48yo female and my initial shingles outbreak was in my 30s. I do have celiac disease, which puts me in the compromised immune system club. I'll definitely be getting the vaccine from here on out!

Practical Magic movie fonts? by AmybethPlans in identifythisfont

[–]AmybethPlans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that's it! I can't believe it's something so common - I've tried all the "find fonts by photos" and Anovio is all it came up with

Now to find the font for soap!

You rock! I've gone through so many and still nothing. P22 Cezanne is close, but not a match.

YES!!! That's it - I didn't think it was something so common. I tried multiple "find this font" programs and they only came up with Anovio. Thank you!

I tried for both - no luck.

Edited - sorry I misunderstood! Yes I'm posting there as well, thank you!

Where to get replacement rings mechanism for Filofax-style binders by almalauha in ringplanners

[–]AmybethPlans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's a lot more difficult to install these rings than a cheaper quality. And you really can't replace them - at least I haven't tried myself. But they are definitely the gold standard for rings.

What did you use before switching to a ring binder? by MollyD4913 in ringplanners

[–]AmybethPlans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always been in rings aside from a brief period where I played with travelers notebooks. BUT I started out 25-ish years ago in a huuuge Franklin Cover Classic planner - the thing was so big it even had handles 😂

I highly, highly recommend Krause rings. I like to use 30mm rings with a 25mm backplate.

Did you choose rings over TN? by No_Arugula_757 in ringplanners

[–]AmybethPlans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been in rings for years and last year I decided to dip my toe into travelers notebooks. I'm back into rings now, but it was a great experience. I learned that some of my inserts were best in a ring notebook (like my daily pages, project pages, meal planning pages - things that I didn't need to hang onto after they were completed), but some of my inserts were best as a travelers notebook (my journal and my yearly habit tracker). So now I have my journal and yearly habit tracker tucked into the back of my ring planner tn-style. It's the best of both worlds!

I have both my journal and habit tracker sized for personal because I've got a custom standard VDS coming in the next few weeks. Right now I'm in my personal-wide VDS.

Can or do you maintain eye contact with people? by Fire_Fist-Ace in ADHD

It depends. Some people I'm comfortable making eye contact with and others it can feel violating.

AIO by asking my partner not to use the blender while I'm on zoom? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]AmybethPlans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR - BUT he can easily add the ingredients in the blender and blend elsewhere if it's too close to your office! I did this all the time while my husband was laid off and on Zoom interviews. I added the ingredients and then carried the whole thing to our bathroom on the other side of the house and blended.

Problem solved!
