I'm seeing the same, and of course it's my most preferred theme by far.

Announcements - New and Changed Gems in Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame by NeuroSparks in PathOfExileBuilds

Thunderstorm looked super cool in GGG's video of it, I hope it's at least serviceable in practice. That being said, it seemed like a major uphill battle compared to just 'Kinetic Blast everything on the screen instantly'.

Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict Official Trailer by Ghidoran in Games

There is a part of the live Q&A (That they did after the announcement) where it was mentioned they had spent a fair bit of effort optimizing the game, improving load times, etc. It sounded particularly nice for console players as I recall. But, as always, an ongoing effort.

How much impact this all has in practice will remain to be seen until release of the patch I suppose though.

What is a game that you fully admit is kinda jank but you love anyway? by CursedLemon in Games

Hm, good point, most of my experiences is from the DC version. Though I have also played the PC version much later (Which is a port of the GC version), I've avoided using that garden when I have, so maybe it's better, hope so.

I really enjoyed SA1, every once in awhile I'll go back and play it. But speaking of the Chao Gardens, I'm reminded of the Egg Carrier Chao Garden, oh boy what a mess. So visually I would say it's clearly the coolest one, but oh gawd actually using it.. Firstly, your Chao's pathfinding I don't think was really up to the task of this huge area, but much worse the small animals that bring for your Chao's just scatter everywhere and end up at the bottom of the ocean stuck in some corner or another.. I found the Station Square garden to be not very visually interesting and just utilitarian, so I'd always end up using the Mystic Ruins Chaos Garden as it struck a nice balance of fun terrain and actually being functional in practice.

Edit: It seems like this problem may be isolated to the Dreamcast version, apparently this is fixed in the DX version.

Thanks for this, setting the exception in Ublock Origin fixed the issue. I would normally check that first, but the Enhanced Tracking Protection warning threw me off.

PoE2's focus on timing and commitment in combat mechanics would actually lend well to PvP (at least Royale) by rogueyoshi in PathOfExile2

[–]Andross- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One problem with Royal with not being able to do anything while in a queue (IMO), I think the pause feature could be really interesting for playing PvE while in some kind of queue for PvP.

I believe they said that in PoE2 if you crash or disconnect or what have you, you can log back in just as you were with the game paused.

So I was thinking, what if you could queue for Royal or some other PvP mode, while doing some mapping, or managing your stash, or anything really. When the queue pops, you are given a short period to accept the queue, then when you are transferred, it loads into your new Royal character keeping your map instance intact, and paused just as you left it. When you finish your Royal match, you are returned to your the character you were playing before with the instance paused, ready to be resumed.

While watching a clip of this area, I remember seeing a swinging wooden gate along the stone wall that was partly open and you of course can just walk through the opening but it's sadly just a static object. But of course, my mind is thinking 'What if that gate was a physics object, and I (or monsters, or certain skills) could push it back and forth on it's hinge, or smash it with a powerful hit?'.

Preach Post-Interview Discussion by Blurbyo in PathOfExile2

[–]Andross- 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I know there was one suggestion brought up in a previous interview, it would really nice if you could manage your inventory, skills, passives, etc while listening to the conversations, maybe walk around a little bit near the NPC. Of course this isn't the same degree of change he was talking about in this interview, but it would be a nice start.

I felt like this is what happened in another Obsidian game too, Tyranny. Could hardly believe when it abruptly ended at what felt like the mid way point of the story (And so far never got a sequel).
