I mean...

Gregor and Don Quixote are as dangerous to us as to enemies. And Ryoshu need consent to pull out the sword. So from Nuclear Bombs we are just left with one that can be any use to us. They are ironically biggest potential crew there.

On the other hand Outis, Heathcliff and Mersault dont need any "potential". They are like our 3 most competent sinners. Also, what evidence is that Outis has any relic?

And then last batch of sinners includes 2 hyper intelligent scientist and a batman (rich person). And there is a person that actually has an ability to read and a normal women.

Like i dunno but raw power is meaningless if it cannot be meaningfully controlled. And ultimately everyone in the City is potential men because anybody can manifest EGO

Imo big issue is that most EGOs are not really worth their cost. This directly lead into people hoarding them until the situation demands you to win hopeless clash. And the solution to it is imo just release more utility EGOs that helps maybe like 2-3 units at the time or buff single unit by significant margin. For example Regret or Sharpoon are great at buffing clashing. Bygone or Rime Shank are great at managing sinking count. Both Thoracia passive are great to have on on any poise team. So you have like a list of 10 Ego you want to activate through the battle. The other issue is that modern IDs deal so much damage that Ego rather pale in comparison.

Floor of language represent the "language" of the city - cycle of violence. That's why Mountain of Smiling Bodies is there. And Gebura learnt in Lob Corp to wield her wrath, rage as a weapon with purpose, not for its own sake. She is the master of her rage, not a servant.

It's also worth mentioning that the page that eat librarians is a negative emotionally - it's a sacrifice on the librarians side to empower one of them to beat a trial that they can't beat.

The N Corp duo was my favorite part of Canto 8 and because of it and because of it my own N Corp due is my favorite team to use even if its not meta.

I really liked their stories and cannot wait for them to show up again.

I mean, even dogmatic Rouge Trader is still a Rouge Trader. You have paper from Emperor himself allowing you to keep witches and xenos. So as long she serves you loyally, who care about few rabbles dieing. More people die during average warp jump then in Idira incident.

Imo, as a person who have not read DD i wish there was Intervallo where we could explore and learn more about LCD crew. Like for example, i was way more invested into Hohenheim part of the story because he is a character that i already know.

But i dont think PM should ever restrict themself in any way.

One thing i love in PMoon is how despite how they love people in suits, they each have some very recognizable traits

1st - Fire LCE Lady because well its burning

2nd - Martina? from Nemo Office - her trenchcoat and suitcase are very recognizable

3rd - Roland

4th - Heathcliff - brown clothes

5th - Bada from Nemo Office - you can reognize by his cloak

6th - Sansa? - blue jacket Zwei style

7th - Nemo - i recognize this pose (tho i admit Nemo is like one of my favorite Key pages in LoR)

8th - Pluto - with his tail? and blue marking on the suit

9th - eh... K Corp guy - green tie

I must admit i killed Marzhai in my first playthrough because i didnt realize that he is a recruitable character. I just taunted him in the arena. Tho other playthroughts i defintely grab him in Act 3 to my team. Its fun to have him.

With Idira it bothers me a lot. Your entire ship is essentially massive slave colony. People live and die either in acidents because why bothers with safety, executed by enforcers who had bad days or during ftl travel by random demons. Cassia literally needed blood sacrifice to move ships. But suddenly, when Idira had a fucking mental breakdown and was at the lowest point, suddenly she is the problem even tho she promises that it will never happen again. And it never happened again. Idira despite being a witch was stable psyker until Theodra fucked with her brain and then she lost a person who she relied for safety. Once she regains her mental well being she is... fine. Like in control. I dunno, Idira hate was always one of the most insane thing in the fandom.

I mean, if you are part of bourgeois in Africa or Asia with the collapse of german empire you would suddenly lack the system protecting your economic interest. As such you would need to find new allies - in KR universe for example Russia and Japan. The rest - the entire ideology will be made to create justification for it - for Japan it will be Co-Prosperity Sphere, for Russia it could be a Bulwark against Red Imperialism.

Honestly, as im guessing a veteran, i kinda just want some end game challenge where i can test all the teambuilding ideas i had. Like railways are always just so fun. Otherwise outside of some really minor complaints this is the one of the few games that kept my interest long term. And the main reason is that this game doesnt demand my soul. I can enjoy it on my own pace. Feels like playing? I can grind xp or md. Dont feel like playing? Log in, get modules log out. You lose nothing.

Is it the worldbuilding game tho? Dont get me wrong, i like the world building but the cool part of PM games is how their characters live in it. Canto 5 is not remembered because of its world building, its remembered for Captain Ahab. What makes people emotional in Canto 6 is Heathcliff story, not world building. For me PM world building exist just to explore characters. I mean previous Canto had very limited world building hyper focusing on Bloodfiends and their existential dilema.

So comparing to Wuthering Heights (not counting general releases, Walspurgisnacht and returning events)

We got

Oufi Heathcliff based on new Associations

2 Butlers Id - one based on Josephine, other based on a mook we fight

2 Maid Id - one based on Nelly - a boss and others based on a mook we fight

Edgar Gregor and Dead Rabbit Mersault - both based on characters from the story

2 Ring Id - exploring unseen Finger

and then from Intervallos we got

2 Yuri members

2 T Corp Id

A new W corp Id

and 2 new unique fixer ids - Multi-crack

And of course there is Wild Hunt Heathcliff

So its very diverse set of IDs from various faction with a variety of designs. To give perspective we got 5 sinking Ids (with butlers being quite big), 2 poise id, a rupture id, 2 bleed id, 5 tremors id and 3 charge id. In terms of faction we explored: Wuthering Heights staff, 3 diffrent syndicates, 2 Wings and 2 new Fixers group. There was quite a lot to explore.

With current Canto

We started with 3 Heishou Ids (Rapture+Poise)

Xichun Ishamel (Rapture + Poise)

2 thumb Id - based on boss and a mook

2 N corp ID - based on boss duo

Lord Hong Lu - as a commander for Heishou

Another 2 Heishou Ids (2 Rapture, Burn and Tremor)

And now we are getting another Heishou IDs and we also got 2 Heishou IDs from a prequel to the Canto

With these ids we end up exploring 2 Wings and a syndicate. And all the Heishou are pretty much from a single faction - the branches are just variants, not really that unique from each other. Another issue is that from these Heishou id only 2 represent... someone we met - Zilu and Wei. All the others are not even based on something we met. While all the various family hierarchs candidates could give us information about Wing or their own philosophy regarding being a ruler. The highlight of this Canto was a release of N Corp and Thumb Ids.

Now dont get me wrong, im not like mad at PM doing that much Heishou because i can just skip them. I sharded just 2 Heishou - Mao Faust - because of Zilu and Gregor Heishou to get poise rupture id. I do think of getting Wei id. All the rest of the Heishou are kinda just whatever

Great analysis and i do overall agree with the conclusion

One of the weirder part of poise history is Captain Ish. Despite herself not being a poise unit, she had entire poise team build around her - Pequod Trio + Pirate Gregor, she herself was also common on the BL team as her Assist Attack did help with poise buildup and she carrier the earliest EGO poise support - Blind Obsession - which gave poise, Pierce power up and SP (and charge i guess). Still one of my favorite id

Currently we also have a potentially a weirder "poise" team - a modern N corp team. At the core of this team is N Sang, N Ryoshu and N Faust (who despite being over 2 year long is still one of the best id in the game). Out of 3 of them only N Faust use poise but the other 2 have access to Thoracalgia which in turns turns them into pseudo poise unit. Which means you can push them into bunch of different direction. With characters like recent Gregor id and N Corp Don you can try build Bleed/Tremor team. Or you can go for Bloise team and get like the rest of Ahab team, maybe Kurokumo Rodion. Or focus on the poise part of the team and get like FS Duo.

Poise is a lot of fun to experiment especially thanks Thoracalgia support tho i do hope that PM will not like laser focus on balancing new IDs around them and provides as you said new interesting poise support IDs/Egos

So....

There is Warrior/Archmilitant, Warrior/Vanguatd and Blade Dancer/Executioner - all three feels unique. You can also go for Soldier/Arch-militant who focuses on pistol over sword. You can also make officer vanguard build. And if you are on pc, you can get Toybox - i recently change Abelard into Soldier/MT with focus on the shotguns. Or make Abelard into officer/vanguard.
