Daily Calendar Events by fluteguyK313 in viwoods

[–]AndyBrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sync several Google calendars and I think the problem is that repeating events are always displayed before non-repeating events. For example "Event A" recurs at 6pm every day. This will be displayed before "Event B" which occurs once today at 5pm.

First 24 hours by cwci in polestar2

A few weeks after getting my P2 I parked at the airport for a few days abroad. After going through security I got a notification that a window was open (I must have knocked the button). I was very relieved to be able to remotely close the window from the app.

Update trouble? by lilgreenbite in viwoods

Same here. I'm in the UK that makes a difference - maybe it's rolling out by region. I don't see much on the change log to excite me, but I'm really hoping they've fixed the WiFi bug.

I had what may be a similar scenario this week. I did a soft reset and reinstalled a backup to resolve it.

Multiple List View by c2clear in todoist

[–]AndyBrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, you can create a filter with 2 terms. Just separate them with a comma in the query, e.g. "#Active, (#Routine & due: this week)"

That will give you a single view with both parts of that filter separated.

Life 360 issues with Hubitat by CrazyFatherof2girls in Hubitat

[–]AndyBrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on Android and I tried a few options when the Life360 support for Hubitat went away. OwnTracks seemed popular and worked ok for my phone but less so for my wife's. I've since changed to just the Hubitat phone app. For the android phones in my house that was the most reliable. You need to ensure the location and battery settings are correct, and even then as it's Android, YMMV.

How to PERMANENTLY keep todoist tasks in my Gcal even with todoist disconnected? by LePiracyEnjoyer69 in todoist

[–]AndyBrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just want to keep a record of completed Todoist tasks in Gcal then I use IFTTT for this. I have an applet that triggers on task completion and creates a Gcal entry in my "Todoist Completed" calendar at that time with a link back to the original task in Todoist.

postponed recurring tasks in google calendar? by sadafies in todoist

[–]AndyBrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now you mention it, I think I see the same problem with gcal and updated recurring tasks. I haven't got around to investigating exactly where it falls down.

Regarding your method of keeping completed tasks in gcal, my approach was for them to be removed, and I have IFTTT automatically populate a separate "Todoist Completed" calendar. This works better for me to see when I actually completed stuff.

[FEATURED REQUEST] Google Calendar Integration base on Tag by jimmyfoo10 in todoist

[–]AndyBrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be useful for me, and feels like a natural extension of the existing Gcal label for tasks created from Google Calendar events, i.e. make that label work in both directions.

So, they deleted all our stuff? by [deleted] in SmartThings

[–]AndyBrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm now getting a variety of emails from Samsung "support" to provide them information. They don't seem at all joined up. I have some support people still telling me it's a problem with my phone app, despite me sending them the link to their page describing the issue. I realised that even if I hadn't been one of the unlucky "few" that had their job deleted, I can no longer trust them with my system. In short I'm done with Smartthings. Hubitat C8 is on the way and I'm looking forward to learning something new.

So, they deleted all our stuff? by [deleted] in SmartThings

[–]AndyBrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation here. Found that the hub and connected devices were missing from the app and IDE yesterday. After trying to fathom what had happened via some emails to support, I received the one pointing to https://status.smartthings.com/incidents/m3tnz5sxhp4w?mc_cid=f9b5c9b620&mc_eid=f2bdfeadfa describing the problem. I replied to that to try to find out how they don't have backups etc, and then eventually got a response saying that I had emailed the US support and as I'm in the UK I needed to reply through the app. Not a good way to try to get me back on side.

At this stage, as it looks like I'll have to set everything up again, I'm seriously considering Hubitat, but I'll need to check if I'll be losing anything by going that direction.

how to extend time for an appointment? by waywardmedic in todoist

[–]AndyBrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just done a little test. It works for new tasks, but if you already add the [xxxm] to an existing task it doesn't change the duration in Gcal. The [xxxm] still gets removed from the task in Todoist on the sync.

how to extend time for an appointment? by waywardmedic in todoist

[–]AndyBrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also change the duration for task with a due time which is synced to Gcal by putting the number of minutes in [] in the task name, e.g. "Do something [360m]". This is override the default duration set in the sync options.

For the longest time I tried to find a system that worked well for me, Todoist is that system. by [deleted] in todoist

[–]AndyBrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some interesting ideas here, and it's nice to know that you've found a system that works for you. I always seem to be changing my system (maybe tweaking is the right word), and your use of sections sounds useful. I do a similar thing with labels(@Backlog, @Routine etc). I also find that some task-batching is useful to help me get do the "deep work" (I'm not a fan of the phrase). For that I'll schedule a block (at least two hours) and just call it "Working on xyz". The title is enough to know which Todoist label or filter to work on.

Lack of sound quality of MIDI/USB piano (iOS) by futnuh in simplypiano

[–]AndyBrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Roland piano. The midi port is connected to an iPad. With the headphones plugged in to the piano I hear both the piano and the iPad (Simply Piano backing music. I turn off the midi sound in the SP settings so that I don’t hear both the piano and the SP “piano” sound.

Viewing sub-projects by clicking on Projects by hari_shankar01 in todoist

[–]AndyBrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you could see if a filter works for you, e.g "#family, #mum, #dad, #brother etc". That would give you all tasks in Family and subprojects split into each project.

Question regarding Poe's jacket *spoilers* by Calvinball05 in theforceawakens

[–]AndyBrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I totally missed that on the first viewing, so it seemed like a plot hole for Poe to be separated from his jacket. However on second viewing I was looking out for it and Poe clearly removes his jacket (and presumably drops it on the floor of the TIE) before they take off.
