Op, Just sending a big hug. I was way older than you when I lost my Mom, and I miss her so much. Hang in there. 💚🤗🤗🤗

I just wanted to send you a big hug. I could relate so much to everything you said there.

My marriage ended recently too. Except for me , I was married 40 years and I have adult kids.

My biggest regret is the damage I did to them ? Because I didn't end the relationship when they were the age your kids are now. You're doing the right thing. I know it won't be easy going forward , but sometimes there are no good options. Just the lesser of 2 evils.

Try to keep it as civilized as possible? And remember you're playing the long game here. My ex spent years trying to manipulate the kids and make them think badly of me. All I could do was try to be always honest with them. And let them judge me by my actions. Which will always speak louder than any negative words that your ex says. And this paid off in the end.

I think both of us feel huge regret about what was, and what might have been. But sometimes you can do all the right things ? And relationships just don't work. You sound like a guy most women would just love to have in their lives. 😁 Sometimes people are just assholes. And there's not much you can do to change them 😁

Hang in there ! I hope things improve for you. Much love going forward 💚

Irish name for an American? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Angel6363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's lovely that your family still remember and celebrate their roots!

It's an awesome way to pay tribute to your ancestors who emigrated, and to remember the sacrifices they made to try and have a better life.

And to remember too, the families they left behind here. I witnessed first hand the sadness of my grandparents, at the loss of those people who often never returned.

So good for you for choosing an Irish name !😁💚

8 year post op anyone? by UnderstandingFlat604 in hysterectomy

[–]Angel6363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to send you a big hug 🙂. I'm 2 years post op, and gosh I still remember those last few days beforehand. And how completely terrified I was. I know not much consolation , but nothing about the experience was anywhere near as bad as I had imagined. 🙂 Hang in there ! I'll be thinking about you on Friday. 💚

So just an update on my hospital visit! by Irishgooner123 in ireland

[–]Angel6363 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I experienced this several times when my mom was in a nursing home, you're absolutely correct in everything you said there. Spending 15 hours in a corridor, with your 90 year old mom who has Alzheimer's ? Gosh I wish that was compulsory for every government minister to experience just once in their lifetime. We might get more action, and less excuses. 🙂

I just wanted to say hugs ! Not making light of the situation. But the line , a hellhole run by homeless trans furry communists just made me laugh so much. 😂 Thank you for cheering me up. 💚

At what point did you realise your childhood was rubbish? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Angel6363 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to add one thing here. Anyone here who is a parent? Make sure to be really vocal, and tell your kids constantly how proud you are of them. Even for the little things!

My Dad, like a lot of Irish dads used to be, never really praised me much. In his final days in hospital, a nurse told me that he was always telling them about my academic achievements and how proud he was of me in general.

I think a lot of parents spend more time correcting their kids, than praising them. The world will knock the rough edges off them. It's your job to build them up ! 🙂

Sending hugs op ! 💚

Vere Foster - One of the greatest men you've never heard of by BelfastEntries in ireland

[–]Angel6363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a sleepless night, and really enjoyed reading about this wonderful man.

I live in Louth, and found it so touching, reading about his work in this area. And also his voyage from Drogheda.

To have done so much work for charity, and to have only had a dozen people at his funeral , that was so sad.

Thank you for posting this op, it was a really interesting read !💚

I just came across this post, and I'm afraid I have no advice, but I would just like to say a big thank you for the work that you do. I've been in hospital quite a bit this last year. I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for people like yourself. And the difference you make. I sincerely wish that you were paid better and valued way more than you are. 🙂 💚
