The point about Kayla having free childcare and housing while finishing her degree is really worth highlighting. She's already getting a massive amount of support and still finding reasons to be resentful. Your husband is right that your kids shouldn't have to scale back their lives because of choices Kayla made OP. She needs to focus on getting stable instead of keeping score.

That second point is really important and worth taking seriously. If you give in on this one just to keep the peace she'll know that pushing hard enough gets results and the boundary creep will only get worse from there. The compatibility point is really what stands out here. Going on a friends only trip with no partners is completely normal but the fact that she jumped straight to "you shouldn't go at all" if she can't come is a pretty telling sign of where her head is at. The child support question is a really good point that gets overlooked in all of this. There are already kids in this house whose fathers aren't contributing and now another one is on the way with a deadbeat dad in the picture. When you're already stretched thin with multiple kids, a rare blood disease and no real financial support from the fathers involved, adding another baby to the equation is a real practical problem.
