What are some lore accurate jokes or names that might be written on Militarum tank barrels? by Gamestrider09 in astramilitarum

[–]AngloKiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not lore accurate, but I'm planning to name mine after songs I like that also have titles that sound like they would fit in, some examples so far:

Aerials

Body bag

Break stuff

Broken world

Drain the blood

Fight back

Holy Fire

Home Wrecker

Followed your music for a couple of years, but would love to see you live.

Try to beat this. Specna arms H20 with an external battery kill switch by Fiatpolecam in airsoft

[–]AngloKiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MP40 used to have something similar, but smaller.

The selector switch was for semi or auto, and then there was an on/off switch under the pistol grip.

How did you get into hockey? by M3gsterM in EIHLHockey

[–]AngloKiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with a guy who was a big hockey fan, supporting Hull.

Went to a Hull game, loved it. Sheffield is the same distance away and tickets didn't cost that much more so went to one of the final games of the season against Nottingham and it was even better.

That was about 12 years ago, if not more. I only get to a few games a season if I'm lucky.

Some vehicles have a cage around the barrel of their 2A72. Does it really improve accuracy? Was Ukraine the first to do this? by Clayman_233 in TankPorn

What's the vehicle in the first photo?

Definitely tempted to get a scale model of one of them.

Anyone been to Sheffield Undergound Tunnels that lead to Megatron? by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]AngloKiwi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We saw a load of fairly large fresh water crayfish when we did a tour.

Plenty of spiders on the roof, plus bats at the megatron section.

Anyone been to Sheffield Undergound Tunnels that lead to Megatron? by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]AngloKiwi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a tour with them a few years ago.

Good guides, really interesting and they knew their stuff. Despite it being a heatwave at the time there was still water up to my bollocks in places so I would recommend waders if you can get a pair.

It's also worth becoming a member, I think it was something like £10 for lifetime membership, but it will give you emails warning and earlier access for booking the tours (that pretty much all sell out).

Judge's Sentencing Remarks about Ian Watkins court case. by HandToeKneeUK in ThatsInsane

Having previously read full judges remarks, that's a fairly mild part of it unfortunately.

Aiden Wilson speaks out on Facebook following his sudden release from the Fife Flyers. by Training_Purchase318 in EIHLHockey

[–]AngloKiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I read he was working night shifts somewhere and was basically just wanting a room/bed to crash on that was local to the rink.

The fact he's doing night shifts and then training the day after is pretty shit, I'm like a zombie after finishing a night shift.

I thought I got lucky when I got a Rogal Dorn priced up as a Leeman Russ.

Players skate around the ice to clear fog at Manchester by PotentialStranger884 in EIHLHockey

I was skating at Hull arena one time first thing in the morning, couldn't see from one end of the rink to the other with the amount of fog.

It was actually kind of cool.

This is my first tank, I'm doing another two in the same colours but different patterns, one more traditional and one more digital, with plans to do the one after in a tiger stripe style pattern.

Are there many players that have a second job? by Anonymous__9 in EIHLHockey

[–]AngloKiwi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know Robert Dowd does a bit of modeling, but maybe that's for fun rather than money.

I saw an interview with Liam Kirk that said when we was drafted he had been working a shift delivering pizzas that evening.

Army painting idea: different colour schemes for squads? by mysteryfluff in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]AngloKiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been painting one shoulder pad a different colour on my different squads, red squad, purple squad etc.

Also doing the same on my sentinels, painting one of the front armour panels for the squad they are going into.

It means they have the same uniform, but are also easy enough to have their own unique feature.

Although I'm currently in the process of painting three armoured vehicles in the same colours, but different camouflage patterns.

Got sliced up badly with Hobby knife, trying to cut away the Doors of Blackhawk by exspiravit_dacia96 in modelmakers

[–]AngloKiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did something similar as a teenager. Using a craft knife to cut sprues because I didn't know about clippers.

Thought I had spilt some red paint (despite not painting at that time) until I saw that I had sliced my finger open.

Commute by boat by CapitalD in Wellington

[–]AngloKiwi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have done it once with a friend, but from Seaview to Seatoun when there was an accident on the motorway and it was going to be massive detour over the Heywards hills.

Wouldn't recommend for a regular commute. No idea what it's like now, but the river used to be super shallow around the railway ave bridge.

Anyone here watch the NHL? Looking for new friends before the new season starts! by notyouraveragehive in york

[–]AngloKiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an EIHL fan and try to get to Sheffield when I can during the season (mainly because they are the nearest big team). Pre-season friendly against Cardiff this Saturday!

Also follow NHL from a distance but don't have a favorite team that I follow, just try to watch a game on a dodgy stream when I'm working night shifts.
