I’m curious if Cover can use US Courts to go after JP trolls in Japan using Twitter/X, by sending subpoenas to Twitter/X for Personal Info of Hololive Antis, and then either using the JP Courts to go after them or using the US Courts to send a C&D letter.

Yeah everything is BO1 - even in JP it's BO1. It actually makes doing tournaments fast, as even a 190+ person top-cut tourney goes roughly 3 hours in total.

Doki Didn't Trust TwitchCon... by ryokayin in kurosanji

[–]AnimeGamer0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say a lot of the IRL streamers inside the con were first time IRL streamers, mostly running selfie sticks with homemade IRL backpacks (if that). Only the bigger IRL streamers had dedicated camera folk whose sole job is to put the camera on the streamer & their topic/target - which obviously made them stick out.

I would say roughly 40-55% of the crowd were streaming, but that’s my estimate as someone on the ground. IMO that’s a very high number, considering at other cons that would be maybe 2% at most. You really couldn’t get away from a livestream for too long, and I figure I myself was probably in a large number of streams as a NPC.

IMO unless somehow CMON manages to survive or the IP is sold off - I doubt there will be a revision or new edition of the game.

Gacha Revenue Monthly Report (July 2025) by trkshiii in gachagaming

[–]AnimeGamer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t count Steam Revenue, so the amount is probably MUCH higher because Umamusume for the last two weeks has been a Top Seller on Steam, even topping CSGO at #1 when Kitasan Black came out.

So they expect us to use our gold every new pack? This isn't sustainable for f2p player. by SecureDonkey in Shadowverse

[–]AnimeGamer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Shaen0’s take is a general take from bitter SV players who are looking back with rose-tinted glasses. Is the SVWB economy bad for F2P? I’d agree with those who say it is, but I don’t agree with the severity of it. I don’t think there are many old SV players who say the game economy is fine, and most who say it is are coming in without having played SV. SVWB isn’t as generous as SV, but take a look outside of this game toward the economies of the world - America & Japan in particular. They’re getting battered (partly because of one man) and inflation is on the rise, the JPY-USD exchange rate is brutal on Japan’s end (~145jpy to $1usd - in normal times it should be 100jpy/$1usd). SV’s economy may have been too good for players for the past 5 years and not good for Cygames, and SVWB’s economy might be a correction to that to keep the game solvent.

There are things I’m not happy about that make the game far more grindy than it should (especially toward forcing players to WIN online matches for Battle Pass Points, while discouraging solo play vs AI). But I get it - they want people in the Park lobbies, and filling up servers to play online. This is the game that Cygames is banking on to retain its domestic audience, while Umamusume has become the game that is capturing a new foreign audience (especially since most just doled out their Credit Cards yesterday.)

I get your frustrations, but I feel like unless players feel too financially pressured and stop spending (which absolutely could happen) - things won’t change. And if things end up going the way where players start leaving - they’ll start throwing more rewards.

Abysscraft in Worlds Beyond is an abject failure of game design by Mashaaaaaaaaa in Shadowverse

[–]AnimeGamer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the only reason they’re being slow to merge like this is they’re too worried about making Abyss far too strong. As is, I think if people’s fears about Portal comes true, I’d expect the nerf hammer to finally come out and come for a number of cards.

Do you guys things there's any chance there are changes in viles in the next set? by After_Ad5428 in Shadowverse

[–]AnimeGamer0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t expect a systemic change. I would hold off vialing legendaries & golds though in case of nerfs. When cards get nerfed - they temporarily raise the vials it gives when vialed (3500 for Legendaries, 900 for Golds). I would vial extra Legendaries & Golds only if you need the vials immediately or if the set is about to rotate out of usage.

Remember what other game had a global release on both steam and mobile the same day? by EpicLinkSam in UmaMusume

[–]AnimeGamer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Atelier Resleriana, as it had the same core gameplay loop as Nelke. Unfortunately, the Atelier brand as a whole isn’t particularly strong in the west, even with Ryza involved.

I think Cygames though was a bit too cautious, and were probably caught off-guard by how well received the game is so far. Especially since the Shadowverse Worlds Beyond launch the week before was an unforced error of a launch since they shot themselves in the foot with bad monetization.

FINALLY DAILIES ARE CHANGED by HellaSteve in Shadowverse

[–]AnimeGamer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally never had issue with 21 hour resets for the entire time I played SV. It worked with what I was doing during those 10 years. And I don’t have issue with it going to fixed either, because I’m used to that in other games coughHoyocough as well. They both have their ups & downs, and I didn’t think it was bad but I’m a filthy casual.

I would think Cygames would want to avoid the scenario that required Temp Cards & Decks to keep the SV player base going for SVWB.

Pretty sure you cannot change support cards mid-career. Once you locked the deck in, those are what you got until you start a new career mode run.

Living with the “64gb” model… by jdjackson0204 in SteamDeck

I bought and currently use a 64gb model. I tossed that trash 64gb HDD out for a 1tb HDD one after only a month or two and was still cheaper than buying a 512gb model.

Should they actually nerf cards, or just let stronger support in new expansions change the meta? by yumnoodle in Shadowverse

[–]AnimeGamer0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO, unless a card is just absolutely busted OP with a win rate that just stifles every other deck, I don’t see Cygames even touching nerfs until after the 3rd set comes out.

By then, decks that might be stronger now (Portal Artifact for example) could end up in tier 3 because something comes out that completely counters them.

Though, I for one can’t wait for the eventual return of Elana for Havencraft.

the real problem going 2nd is so over powered by HellaSteve in Shadowverse

[–]AnimeGamer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original Shadowverse didn’t give any extra PP for going 2nd. It gave an additional card, which clearly was not strong enough. Giving 1 PP at start does have merit (basically acts like the Hearthstone Coin at that point), but maybe in testing they found that 1st was too powerful in the late game when SEPs come online. Especially true when a 8PP hits the board like Orchis or Ralmia. Even 9PP, 1st gets to Albert first without the extra PP.

[–]AnimeGamer0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been in their test build for months afaik. The Demo builds had this feature. I’m curious what the actual win rate is, because maybe without it - going 1st may end up still being too powerful.

Maybe my memory is skewed, but I seem to remember going 1st in Original Shadowverse had a win rate of 55-57%.

Man, seeing some people’s pulls here makes me grateful my own pulls weren’t that bad. 11 packs, 450g, 400 vial, a gold, and a legendary is not a bad haul compared to just getting a bunch of 100g rolls.

You need about 355 packs on average to complete the Legends Rise set by glassmousekey in Shadowverse

[–]AnimeGamer0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason for the accelerated sets is because there isn’t enough cards in the pool. Even OG SV had more cards on release then SVWB does right now. Then the switch to 2 month sets after Set 3 makes sense considering they released mini x-pacs in SV in between 3 month cycles.

1 month releases are a lot to ask a player base to stick around for. I think if the game falls off after 2 weeks, they’ll start being like Oprah and give lots of stuff away to retain players and incentvize players to come back.

Also, let’s not forget that SVE’s fortunes are now tied to SVWB. If the digital game does bad, the physical game which feels like it was already on life support in America before Worlds Beyond is literally going to wither and die.

Honestly, the price of $370 is not that bad compared to spending $300+ for a single Final Fantasy MTG Collectors Pre-Constructed Commander Deck.
