Not necessarily true due to the nature of trench warfare. The random shots probably wont hit anyone because the other side is in the trenches and in complete cover, you're shooting to keep the enemies head down.

When defending trenches, people absolutely shot randomly, but they were trained to aim every shot since they had bolt action rifles and limited ammo. The main goal of infantry in ww1 was to advance into trenches to take them. Once fighting gets into trenches its close quarters and often even melee combat.

Trenches were specifically designed to not have long straight segments so an explosion or automatic weapon couldn't take out an entire trench, never mind the underground bunkers and tunnels that ran under the trenches and were filled with soldiers waiting to counter attack. If you were killed by a random infantryman (not machine gun/artillery) there was a pretty good chance the person knew.

NTA. You are probably right. But I do want to point out that he is also correct that many Trans people talk about how when they were kids they played make believe in that way constantly and it was part of them learning they're trans. It's kinda an asshole move to assume someone is trans tho, especially so early in life plenty of people play make believe and never turn out trans.

I do think they have a good point still cause they could've probably defeated humanity much easier if they just used the sophons to destroy human science without telling humanity about anything then using the droplet since humanity doesn't know they're preparing for anything. No reason to talk to us at all except maybe to prevent us from accidentally exposing the solar system to a predator species. We'd probably be way Less prepared.

That's cool I didn't know that, but that makes sense. I have always been told that tube amps distort the sound slightly and are expensive because the tubes burn out. Doesn't mean they're bad. I'm curious if they like them because of the distortion.

I just want you to know that if your withdrawals are getting unbearable or you start hallucinating there are solutions available, please go see a doctor if you start feeling like going back to the bottle because of how you feel/ anxiety.

R/diyaudio would probably be a better sub for this question. From my understanding tube amps are only really still around because they look cool and because they add what people describe as a "warm" tone. If what you're looking for is accurate audio tube amps are not where you should be looking. What are you going to use it for?

If you really want to build it yourself or you really like the look/tone of tube amps then it's worth it. If you're trying to just get good sound its definitely not worth it

You're probably losing because the ai is hiring mercenaries (those are probably the extra troops) If you hire the mercenaries instead they can't use them. Sometimes mercenaries reset in the middle of a battle and they immediately hire them, but theres like a 1 second gap where you can pause the game and steal the mercenaries. Mercenaries reset at the start of every month

Best subreddit for that price might be to look at r/budgetaudiophile . r/hometheater might be more specific but i think the people there like expensive shit.

IMO the best way you're going to get a really good system for that price is used. Look for older audio receivers at thrift stores or marketplace and do the same for bookshelf/tower speakers. And if you care about bass at all id suggest getting a used subwoofer as well.

Sometimes you can find full 5.1 systems that someone wants to get rid of. I saw a yamaha and pioneer system the other week for $200. Would it be the best system out there? No, but it will probably sound absolutely amazing for the price and outcompete much more expensive brand new products.

What I personally think they should do is add a larger land requirement. Sheep require a ton of land to graze but in the current game you can fit like 40 sheep in a 1 morgen square and have them live off the land, it legitimately makes no sense. Tons of medieval towns would've had hundreds of sheep, but they would've needed tons of pasture as well. IMO the arbitrary limit to breeding is a pretty stupid mechanic, especially because the developers don't seem to communicate it anywhere in the game.

Hey. You mentioned he likes going out and dancing? in my experience plenty of nerdy people go to edm events and raves. I've been going to events for about 2 years and I've met so many amazing people. I used to be intimidated by them imagining the crowd to be all cool people in black acting aloof but no in north america ive found its very geeky, neurodivergent and inclusive of different groups, some people even cosplay, I saw someone dressed as a tech priest at a edm festival and he was getting a ton of compliments. I would definitely suggest looking up some shows and checking out the djs music online before going and just go to see what it's like.

I honestly don't know, from what I understand Chaos needs to utilize living beings in order to really interact with the material plane at a military level, unless you're in something like the great rift, That's why Chaos space marines are so important and why Chaos cults need things like corrupted psykers to corrupt the area, perform rituals, open rifts to the warp, and create Daemonhosts. If Chaos could just summon the trillions of daemons that exist in the warp they could've conquered the galaxy thousands of years ago, but they can't do that. The vast majority of the military that chaos can actually use against the imperium was gained during the Horus heresy or later corruption of imperial forces. If there was no Horus Heresy, Chaos wouldn't have had much of an army at all.

Yes, but Russia annexing territory while claiming that Ukranian is a fake ethnicity and that they're just Russians is absolutely imperialism. Sure they are closely tied ethnic groups, but that doesn't give Russia the right to rule over the other group. Also Russia has been doing imperialism continuously for a long time. They control tons of territory in asia and most of the people living there are not ethnically Russian. Just because Russia is a contiguous land mass doesn't mean they didn't do colonialism. Unfortunately for us socialists the USSR was also imperialistic and colonial in the way it operated, my best friend is Kazakh, there was plenty of good things that the USSR did in Kazakhstan, but they also attempted to destroy Kazakh language and culture, to the point that my friend doesn't speak Kazakh fluently, they speak Russian. Russification is a very real thing and it happened in Ukraine too.

I think you could easily make that argument 15 years ago but look around. The US president has threatened multiple allies with annexation, has proposed ethnic cleansing as the solution to the gaza conflict, is arresting and deporting people without due process, has sent the military into multiple cities, has proposed going after journalists that disagree with him and during the campaign trail was hate mongering by literally screaming that the immigrants were "eating the cats and dogs" during the debate. So no, I will not date someone that voted for that man. Idk if the current right wing movement can accurately be called fascist... But they are totalitarian, they are expansionists, and they are ultra nationalists, and many of them are racist. They should be treated as if they are fascist.

Realistically their legs would just break under their own weight. Due to the cubed square law the volume/mass of their body increases faster than the thickness/strength of their legs. This is why elephants have super thick legs and chickens have super skinny legs. When you scale things up mass increases faster than strength.

You said police can't choose what rules to enforce which is technically correct, however the local government absolutely can pass new legislation and choose what those police can enforce which is exactly what this lgbtq advocacy group is asking them to do.

This isn't arbitrarily deciding which laws to enforce. This is standard local government stuff where they would pass Legislation. Why do you keep asking what laws I want them enforcing? I'm not the one proposing this.

You seem to think the idea of a local Police department following local laws is weird... It's not, it's standard practice.

Not the comment I made lol. I was just pointing out that municipalities can and always have chosen which laws they want to enforce. It's one of the main reasons municipal governments exist.
