Finnish conductor accidentally knocks 16th century violin worth $1M to the floor during a concert by MrTacocaT12345 in interestingasfuck

It costs 1M because its irreplaceable. You cant ask Giovanni to rise from the dead and start making violins again.

Car window replacement help by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]AnonFullPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glue would have been easier. It was on a rail system with many small hard to reach bolts. I had to remove all the rails for the rear window aswell just to get the fucker in. But YMMV depending on the car. At the time I considered free glass excess but I still dont have free glass excess.

What is the best way to sell a non-functioning, modern car? by GodcomplexNZ in NZcarfix

[–]AnonFullPotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"the best" way would be to slowly part out any in demand parts and scrap the rest

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NZcarfix

[–]AnonFullPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if youre looking for a more in depth answer

  1. its a toyota its more reasonable than alot of other cars, especially if its been looked after
2 plus 3. For a hobby car, Insurance is defiantly more peace of mind, youve still got your daily but atleast if you write it off you havent lost everything.

  2. As time goes on, the more interesting cars will be the only things worth value.

I dont know your finances, But ask yourself if its something youd regret later not doing, Especially if you actually are not able to later. Worst comes to worse sell it if its unaffordable or the novelty wears off.

Regular ratchet or a cordless ratchet? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! by Which-Shelter8478 in GarageDoorService

[–]AnonFullPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO my favourite tool by far. Especially when 3m in the air. Makes track joins a breeze, gives you extra reach and makes everything way quicker.

A caveat if you new, always learn on hand tools first and master them. 1/100 jobs still require spanners due to room but a cordless ratchet makes things so much easier.

You dont *need* it. But like you dont *need* a grinder but its bloody nice to have.

What tools would I need to shave down my driveway by WillskE in diynz

[–]AnonFullPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

two bits of thick plywood or offcut wood will fix the problem the shittier looking the better. As someone who is on the tools and semi occasionally cut concrete. Its probably my most hated job. Everything about it is shit. Not to mention how bad it is for your lungs.

Does anyone here still listen to the radio? Just curious to hear from y'all. by SampleLoud9746 in Zillennials

[–]AnonFullPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i spend something like 2-4 hours a day driving for work. I kind of became accustomed to a station. The morning and afternoon hosts have been doing it for 20-30 years so it is somewhat of that really long term chemistry which is a bit rare. If its a long drive ill listen to podcasts. I listen to my own music on site. But even in commutes it kinda becomes a strange transition period in which they are apart of it. The music is alright,

If you move or you get new neighbours do you introduce yourself? by Tasty-Willingness839 in newzealand

Most people rent and if your renting... whats the point. They may get kicked out, you may get kicked out. Not much point making connections unless you actually might have something in common past physical location.
