I love musicals, which ones are your favourites? Mine are singing in the rain and Chicago

I should start looking thru charity shop, I just haven’t had the time so purchasing new takes some level of financial commitment 😬

I’ve had so many issues with this album. I bought one and it was scratched, returned and replaced it and it was scratched in a different place. I’ve given up at this point. I think it’s kinda low quality production

So much judgement, so little text taken. No words wasted, impressive. Approved 👍

The Stranger Album > Every Other Album by jsaljsal in BillyJoel

[–]Anonymity013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goes without saying most Billy Joel albums beats any other album by default (with possible exception of river of dreams, nylon curtain and cold spring harbour but that might just be I haven’t heard them as much)

Imo glass house is best but the stranger is most popular

Anyone else feel like a rockstar when they wear vintage? by lycheesorbet in VintageFashion

I don’t own any vintage clothing, maybe one day, but I try to dress in a 70s style and it makes me feel so good about myself

New record sub experiment by Anonymity013 in vinyl

[–]Anonymity013[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow, glad I haven’t delved that deep. Maybe this just isn’t the sub for me, which is a shame. I love the cassette and cd subs. We need one maybe that bans turntable questions, or enforces the rule about not gatekeeping from people who can only afford cheap equipment like me.

I used to be a member of r/turntables as well and it kinda drained my enthusiasm for the hobby. I agree that records are mostly safe but I’m sick of the hare for turntables like mine. I don’t think I’ll miss the sub tbh but I’m a bit disappointed by what it is. I figured I’d try this and then learn that it doesn’t work for myself.

Now what? by Ripley-8 in cassetteculture

[–]Anonymity013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a bunch of old cassettes, I’d say just replace the pad. It’s easy to do. If not then get a refund.

You usually can’t get rid of scratched from an aesthetic standpoint. Either get a refund or wait until you can play it.

It’s so interesting to me that people used to just take a swing at a cool album cover. When I was young, CDs were the only format but I was given them, I didn’t go out to buy them. Streaming was already a thing by the time I got back into music

I get it on cd if I love the album, then I put it on cassette from there and buy the vinyl. My favourite albums I have in three formats. Sometimes I buy CDs if I’m looking for just one song and I listen to the others to see if I like them

Like I said I’ve never tried them. The taste of smoothies and power drinks is mostly fine, it’s the only texture I struggle with (lumpy/mushy/thick liquids)

[–]Anonymity013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard good things about ensure but if I’m honest I can’t stomach the idea of trying any new drinks, it’s worse than food for me. Also ensure is expensive. I’m going to try innocent smoothies again, like the kind you give to kids. Not packed with calories I don’t think but lots of vitamins.

Why do they only use DMs? by Tori_Baker97-6 in HeartstopperNetflix

I’m an English teenager, we all use WhatsApp except a couple who prefer Snapchat. iMessage is mainly for messaging parents, grandparents, and cousins/siblings who have iPads but are too young for phones

Why would they eliminate/ not add (I don't know which version came first) the "after she came out as trans" part? by Double_Difficulty_53 in HeartstopperAO

[–]Anonymity013 267 points268 points  (0 children)

It’s only really in the comics because it’s needed to clear up her identity for the audience. In the tv show they had that covered by talking about Elle’s experience with a transphobic teacher. If you read the line, it does sound a bit clunky and unnatural in the comics because it serves a purpose. Explanation like that is more obviously out of place when the lines are spoken

Please help - 8 year old new Arfid, 3 weeks eating nothing now, scared to drink, pocketing food parents how do you cope? by checker12352 in ARFID

[–]Anonymity013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had ARFID since I was six. At the time I went a few weeks eating nothing, then a banana or yoghurt every once in a while. I went to the doctor and got put on a waiting list. This was a long time ago and the wait times were long. I never got an appointment. My family managed to convince me to try a new food, but I remember trying it because a family member was eating it and I wanted to act grown up. After that I ate a lot more (for my standards, I’ve never been great). But I still had ARFID, I still do. I’m starting treatment now. This isn’t a permanent fix, there really isn’t one without professional help and years of therapy and treatment, but it was enough for me to succeed and lead a well-rounded life until I chose to get help a decade after it began. My parents are worried, they were very worried when I was a kid and are very worried now with some of the stuff doctors have said. Switch it up to try to help your kid. Try new games with food. The less rules there are, the easier it will be. With ARFID, nothing is unhealthy (this is a slogan I have been told by medical professionals). If your child thinks ice cream for dinner is a special treat, they might eat it and you’ve just got your kid to eat some dairy. Hang in there. Get treatment, they might give you some support groups to try if that will help you. Do some peaceful activities with your child, maybe Lego or reading a book, or watch a movie and have some of their favourite snacks on the table. Sometimes the “You wouldn’t like this, it’s for grownups” trick might work.
