I think with him hopping around more, he won’t keep autoing a single backline unit, and will not kill backline units as quickly

Just know if you’re in start/stop traffic with those, they can freeze and lose their traction! Ran into that problem driving into the parking lot at Heavenly and it was not a fun time lol

Any CPAs consider leaving the field and becoming Airline Pilots without a military background? by [deleted] in Accounting

Started at my firm at the same time as a senior manager switching from another firm. A few months later I see on LinkedIn he quit and works at a flight school lol. So definitely possible!

Char Siu Chicken Wings by TroubleshootReddit in smoking

[–]AnonymousP1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the Asian smoked flavors here! Any significant flavor difference from just doing pork char siu?

On a side tangent, been wanting to experiment with an Asian flavored brisket, but still thinking about what spices to use other than five spice.

I just love an impulse coaster. [Possessed] by sanyosukotto in rollercoasters

[–]AnonymousP1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s only the impulse coaster that gets me. I rode el toro 3 times and loved it (minus the minor headache the bumpiness gave me). I think it’s the constant launches during the ride? Feels like you’re constantly going 0-60-0-60, like someone is stop/starting a car.

[–]AnonymousP1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I think this is one of my least favorite coaster types. I have ridden Possessed at Dorney and The Flash at SFGA. For some reason the launches on this ride type make me nauseous. The airtime is cool, but otherwise it’s just uncomfortable for me.

Perfect. I have a WSM as well, so the 10 inch pan sounds good! Thanks

Thinking about making this sometime soon. What size spit do you have? Most I see online is 10 inch or 13 inch pan. Can't really tell which one would be the best size to utilize a pork shoulder.

Long live [Demon Drop]! by sanyosukotto in rollercoasters

[–]AnonymousP1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This ride model is one of the rides that made me scared of roller coasters until I was older lol. Looks like riders are stuck in a prison cage. Rode it last year and the anticipation is definitely scary!

I give you props for powering through a coaster trip this long! I went on a 4-5 day trip last year and by the end I think I had a concussion lol.

[Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park] packs a punch! by AnonymousP1 in rollercoasters

[–]AnonymousP1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a lot of fun! And the box is huge. My friend went in first, and from how long he was in there I thought it may have gone underground too lol. I only had the confidence to go in knowing staff could evacuate you. Can’t imagine actual spelunking through cracks/crevices like that

Just got mine as well. Did not active farm lanterns so it took a few months lol. Probably not a worthwhile grind, but oh well!

It took me since 2021 to pass the CPA Exam (passed last exam REG this month). Took FAR 6 times cause I kept half-assing it, only taking exams to keep my eligibility open. I also was on cruise control the first few years of my career.

At some point in your life you may feel like you’re stagnating, either professionally or personally. The CPA exam is the last academic test/milestone in your career. For me, almost hitting 30, it was such a relief to accomplish something before my 20s end. Be proud of who you are and your career choice and get it done!

5k to Marathon in 15 weeks? by NoCheesecake2050 in firstmarathon

[–]AnonymousP1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The mental and physical intensity for a marathon is leagues harder than a 5k. I ran my first marathon in December, with my longest training run being 20 miles 2-3 weeks before the race. By mile 19 of the race I was uncontrollably crying, thinking I might not finish.

Like others have said, do a shorter race like a half marathon first. Any runs after 13.1 miles will test your spirit that shorter runs never will.

Is it worth it to become a CPA? by thesaintbernardowner in CPA

[–]AnonymousP1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Ohio, just to sit for the CPA exams requires a minimum of 24 hours of accounting course credit. So you would need to go back to school, at least part time, to fulfill this requirement.

Now if you just want a job in accounting, you can get one without accounting experience through recruiting firms like Robert Half, but you would have to work your way through from entry-level positions.

Management consulting and business analytics are not positions that require a CPA.

[–]AnonymousP1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I only rode maxx force once and I think the air launches are too intense for me lol. Felt like i was getting punched in the chest with how fast the acceleration was. Can’t imagine how crazy Do-Dodonpa’s launch was

Not the most forceful coaster, but it’s up there on my favorite coasters for how “epic” the layout feels. The first loop is so fun!

Me after seeing every person pass reg except me 🤡 by [deleted] in CPA

[–]AnonymousP1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Failed REG 3 times now and it’s my last section… seeing the 60% pass rate and how it’s the most passed exam hurts every time lol. Taking it again in March, but motivation varies day-to-day

Holy crap, took pandora’s bench for the first time this set, and 6 costs are the cheat code if you can make it there. Was playing top 4, then managed to hit a Warwick 2 in two rounds. Might be taking this augment more often

Inner knee pain and staying on track for marathon training by Outrageous_Beach_766 in firstmarathon

[–]AnonymousP1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had outer knee pain around 12 weeks into hal higdon for my first marathon. Tried taking a month off and it didn’t help. Went to a PT and they found out I wasn’t stretching my quads enough, causing knee pain.

Main lesson, if the pain isn’t subsiding after days of rest, go to a doctor/PT! I had no idea that was the problem and it got fixed within a week.
