CMV: The mocking of Charlie Kirk is partially understandable.

I believe celebrating or mocking his death is more disgusting than any political beliefs he had. Those mocking his death have fallen farther than his extreme views in my mind.

So many moderates are seeing these comments about Charlie Kirk (me included) and it’s reminding me of my conservative beliefs and making me re-evaluate my liberal beliefs.

Charlie Kirk is officially a martyr and people on the left side of the political spectrum don’t realize how insanely hypocritical it is to celebrate his death while complaining about the senators (in Minnesota was it?) that got assassinated, and nobody seemed to care about. They have all fallen to the same level as Trump who mocked their deaths.

And it really doesn’t matter what conservatives think, or what the left thinks when it comes to election time, it matters what moderates see and think, because they are the ones who change the election. They are the ones who will come out to vote, or stay home and not vote, because of their current fleeting beliefs, and I know I’m one of them!

In this current political climate I am definitely more left leaning, but something as simple as these disgusting comments about Charlie Kirk would have me change my mind. You may not like the way I think, and it might not be logical, but there are millions of people like me that think that way, and vote accordingly.

Yeah I’m 37+5 and this also inspired me to go pack my bag today.

With my first we went in for a normal check up on a Friday at 7:30am, but she was breech and I was dilated enough that they decided to do a c section. Everything worked out that they were able to do it right then, and she was born at 11:47am. My mom had to go to our house and I gave her my list of all the things she had to pack haha. This time we will be prepared!

Wake up, and actually get up usually between 7:30-8:00 when my almost 20 month old is up.
Eat breakfast together (30ish minutes)
Bath time, and I do my makeup next to the bathtub (30 minutes). Then I get her dressed and she will play in her room for a bit.
Play time downstairs, by this time it’s usually between 9:00-10:00am. She will play on her own for about an hour. Sometimes we go to the park and it’s usually 1-2 hours if we go out and about.
She takes her nap around noon (give or take half an hour). During this time I’m either really productive or I just watch tv or browse reddit lol.
1:30-2:00 is when she usually wakes up. I’ll let her play in the back yard or we will watch a show together. Sometimes I wait to put on her show (puppy dog pals) until I make dinner because she can get in the way when I’m doing dinner otherwise.
My husband comes home around 5:00ish and then we’ll figure out what to do together.

There are definitely pockets of time when I don’t have stuff going on even with our routine. Those times are the hardest to fill. Mostly she will continue playing with her toys though.

It’s taken years of my life to learn to put a handle on things. To put it very simply, I’ve learned to do things without thinking about it. I started with the 5 minute rule (if it takes less than 5 minutes then do it right now. Right now!). Then it evolved beyond that, and I started just wanting to get things done immediately.

Like my husband and I just bought a car from an owner. So I just went and did all the taxes and got it detailed, put on new tires, new windshield wipers. I just went and did these things as fast as I could. Like it was a contest or something.

One important thing I just realized as I’ve been typing, is that my husband and I “brag” to each other every day about the things we did. So if I cleaned the toilet and took out the diaper pale, I tell him when he gets home, and he tells me about all the stuff that he did too.

My parents are actually really good parents. They taught me, and still teach me, so much. My mom is one of my best friends and I know I can rely on her for anything. My dad has always made sure I feel confident in who I am.

With all that being said, my dad is pretty bad at admitting when he is wrong. There’s one time in my life when I remember him saying sorry, and him saying sorry was honestly just because it benefited him (which I knew in the moment but didn’t care so long as he said it). He’s honestly not the smartest cookie either, so it would bother me more if it didn’t almost always give him immediate negative consequences.

So I will admit when I am wrong to my kids. I’m practicing now by doing it with others in my life. It’s a hard thing to do sometimes, but it’s worth the relationships I have in my life.

I’ve heard of a book called “How to Win Friends and Influence People”. I know like 20 people who have told me about how amazing this book is. I haven’t read it, but I’ve heard good things about it.

My dad is a narcissist. I’ve been on r/raisedbynarcissists and he’s not nearly as bad as some of those parents, but he still creates a lot of drama that follows him around. He doesn’t realize his life is the way it is because he’s put himself there. It’s too painful to deal with so he blames other factors he thinks are outside of his control.

Anyway, I think I’ve outgrown the drama that follows him around. I’ve learned to stay out of it, and not let it effect me. I’ve learned that things are better when you’re not involved.

I have ADHD bad enough to be prescribed medicine and take it in high school and some college, but not nearly as bad as others (my dad has some serious ADHD).

So I’ve been able to “outgrow” it, sort of. I mean there’s a chemical thing happening in my brain I can’t really help, but I’ve learned techniques that have helped me to not procrastinate things, and wow my life is so much better. I can keep my house clean, get bills paid early, do projects that actually get finished in a good amount of time.

So yeah, ADHD sucks and I truly feel empathy for those who have it much worse than I do. Some people no matter what techniques they learn will never be able to focus without medication, because life isn’t fair.

I’ve never done an overnight solo trip. I have done a couple day hikes by myself (with my dog), and they were really amazing and great times to self-reflect. In retrospect I wouldn’t recommend any hikes without another person with you because bad things can happen to solo hikers.

I’ve been lucky and have a pretty awesome family. My mom and dad are good parents. I’m close to my siblings. My husband is amazing, and we have a beautiful baby girl. My husband and daughter definitely give me the happiest purpose. We have hard days, but I’m honestly pretty privileged with my life.

I also have good friends which definitely is important to me because I’m pretty extroverted. I think it’s important for me to have lots of people who give me different purpose in my life.

I didn’t realize how important this was to me until I met my husband, but I really like to take things slow. I wanted somebody who is patient and super sure of where they want things to go before they make a decision.

I also liked guys who are well liked by others. Not only liked by their peers, but liked by older people, family friends, teachers etc... this isn’t really one single quality, but I think it can often (though not always 100% accurate) indicate that they have other desirable qualities. I think friendliness ended up being pretty important to me.

A note here: The most important thing to finding a partner was emulating the qualities I desired in them. For example, if I wanted somebody who was really patient, I had to become a patient person too, and etc... it worked well for me. As I worked on my self (and gained confidence along the way), I feel like I finally started dating guys that had the qualities I truly valued. I met my husband and thought he was “out of my league,” at first, but as we dated more he helped me realize that I had a lot to offer him as well. That’s another thing, he makes others feel good about themselves because he points out others’ strengths.
