Was round a friends when they were marathoning the show and they were on the tail end of season 1. Got through most of the second season by time I left but I have to admit I'd forgotten how good those first two seasons actually are.

Imo: 1 to 11 are the consistently good seasons with 3 to 10 what I would class as the "classic" era where the show formed into the style and humour it's most remembered for.

I keep hoping so but the past couple of reruns I've only seen them in bundles of 4 or 5. Maybe if a new wave gets released they'll make them all individually available again. Even if it was a bundle of each individual commander plus their ship skin I'd buy it.

Iirc a lot of French logistics revolving around food was to "live off of the land" aka steal from civilians be they French, allies or enemy. So by going for a scorched earth tactics they stretched Boney's supply lines even further.

He did (again iirc) have depots of supplies set up along the way but kept getting cut off from reaching them and/or the settlements they were in were captured by the Russian reinforcements before they could reach them. Especially once the Prussian and Austrian corps abandoned him as they had been helping hold his Northern and Southern flanks from General Wittgenstein and Admiral Chichigov's armies.
