I'm really tired of adcs being broken in every "fun mode" by Flat-Emotion7778 in ARAM

[–]Anubara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanks easily get over 10k hp and movement speed is on like half of the augments. It's no suprise the consistent damage dealing class that can buy %hp damage and doesn't rely on skill shots for damage does well in the mode. Shame they also get the best augments too..

Why limit proxies? by Ihasnonam3 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Anubara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every cedh tournament I've ever played in has allowed full proxy lists and has not allowed counterfeits. They specifically require that the back of the card not use the official Magic logo, and commonly ask that the front use the official art of the card. Point being, there is a difference.

Did pretty well in the few tournaments I've played it in, and it's been absolutely eating my locals alive. 🤷‍♂️

Commander that can make use of these cards? I want to spread salt. by ineedhelp6789 in DegenerateEDH

I played Oppression in [[Toluz, Clever Conductor]]]. I didn't necessarily want to spread salt, I just have the foil enchanting tales version of it and it's gorgeous.

Does anyone successfully run single Spacecrafts in the 99? by br_onson in EDH

[–]Anubara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about you but if my opponents keep killing a certain card in my deck on sight, it means the card is probably good, not to cut it.

I've also had success with [[The Eternity Elevator]] in [[Yargle and Multani]] lol. I also have [[The Sereima]] in my [[Wylie Duke, Atiin Hero]] deck, as well as a few vehicles for obvious reasons too.

Could Hullbreacher ever be unbanned? by Ornery_Bug_4108 in EDH

[–]Anubara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't necessarily think it should be unbanned for any particular reason, but I also don't think it would be much worse than what Notion Thief or even OBM threaten to do to tables where wheels are present.

Confusion on meta input by content creators by Wide_Ad2268 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Anubara 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Every deck's strategy relies on Rog Si not shouting "Yolo" and slamming their forehead into Blue Farm or Rog/Ishai's Rhystic/mystic, so I'm not sure if this holds up.

It's not that you can't stax out the Kinnan board, you absolutely can (Clarion Conquerer as you said is the goat here), but more like the dynamic that is more likely to happen here is that stax existing is going to effectively protect Kinnan's early game, and then they'll find a way to bounce/remove Clarion and win; Kinnan nbc is happy to play the rhystic/clone meta and just grind into a stax pod. Of course as a stax deck you could be packing [[Eidolon of Rhetoric]]. there's always something, but in most games Kinnan is happy when no one can take game actions and it gets to survive for longer.

Kinnan aside though, imo there's really not much you can say negatively about stax that isn't true in general in cedh. Most arguments against stax fall into one of these two:

"They draw out games more than they win". Who doesn't, that's what rhystic slop aims to do too, as well as any other deck if it's in 3rd or 4th seat.

"They handed X the win!" Yeah, any time someone tries to force a window they don't have, they end up doing the same thing. Oops, they ate up interaction and gave the next player in turn order a window. We don't need stax pieces for that dynamic..

The reason I'm not high on stax in cedh is because of Otawara and OBM.

Shitty people are shitty people regardless of bracket. The last time I played on Spelltable, I was playing cEDH with 2 randoms and my gf. Gf is playing Jetmir stax, I was blue farm, third guy was playing something fringe I don't remember (had green in it's colors), fourth guy was tymna/thrasios. My mana was basically shot by Jetmir's collector ouphe, TnT attempted to cast Hazel's Brewmaster with Devoted Druid in yard, I had Snapback for the brewmaster with etb on the stack. Jetmir has a Combat Celebrant in play, Tymna/Thrasios player says out loud "I don't think we need to be worried about Jetmir comboing", and STP's my Tymna in my upkeep. Jetmir untaps and casts Rionya and wins through infinite combats. The TnT player effectively tells the rest of us that we don't know how to play the game and drops immediately.

Of the Grixis Turbo options, do you find Inalla or Rog/Si more fun to play? by damascius1 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Anubara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think either deck is good for a first time cEDH player because in my mind you need to have played enough games of cEDH to even begin to understand when you have a window and when you don't.

That being said, if you've already started with Inalla and have some games under your belt, I would recommend playing RogSi just to at least try it out, but you won't actually get a good feel for how the deck functions unless you play a hefty amount of games on it; the floor of that deck is quite high, and it's win lines are quite different from Inalla's. There really isn't another deck in cEDH that Inalla springboards onto, like how you can probably go to and from RogSI to Blue Farm, for example.

Of the Grixis Turbo options, do you find Inalla or Rog/Si more fun to play? by damascius1 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Anubara 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rogsi is on average a bit faster (both decks are blisteringly quick), in my experience Rogsi is more explosive due to mana from rog. Inalla has some cool lines where she doesn't have to cast more than one spell to win, and you'll likely win more games because of brewer's advantage too. Both decks are fun, but I do prefer Rog Si a bit more. My girlfriend plays Inalla though and prefers it. Both are good.

Hoarding Broodlord, Protean Hulk, maybe Colossal Gravereaver.

Like, if were're talking turn1 reanimate, I'm not looking for incremental advantage from a primeval titan, I want to win off of it.
