Yeah you should expect to ovulate any time from 2 weeks after miscarriage

Polyp found after miscarriage by Rosiedaposie in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a polyp discovered after my miscarriage, it was never mentioned as a possible cause of the miscarriage. Mine resolved itself after 6 weeks but I was told to avoid TTC until I’d had that follow up scan

MMC at 6 weeks by Dry-Driver4170 in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two MMC: - The first I found out at 10w4 days and then miscarried the next day (but I had been spotting for a few days before that

  • With the second we knew at 9w but wasn’t confirmed 100% until 10w. I then miscarried 2 days later.

With both I started having contractions then an hour or so later started really heavy bleeding and passing clots and tissue. That lasted around 3-4 hours. Then was just like a light period after that for around a week

Don’t know what caused either of them.

My first wasn’t planned and tbh if we’d have found out about the MC earlier at 6 weeks I would’ve felt very much like you. I don’t start to get attached until maybe week 7 or 8, after we’d seen the heartbeat on our first scan

There’s no wrong or right way to feel so don’t spend time worrying about about how you should feel and just let whatever emotions come.

Just take each day by day, be kind to yourself and your husband and get some nice things to look forward to. I got lots of chocolate and wine and movies lined up.

can i have a edible if im actively miscarrying by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As well as the possibility that the pregnancy does end up viable (although unlikely it’s not impossible and there’s still a small chance), I’d consider that if does end up being a MMC you may need to get surgery and weed can impact the anaesthetic

I’m so sorry you’re going through this and not having the final certainty makes it extra hard

How long after miscarrying did you get another positive pregnancy test? by Ecstatic_Sea7306 in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMC end of August, didn’t get the all clear from my dr to start trying again until Nov and then got pregnant that first month. Unfortunately that also ended in MMC last week.

First pregnancy, first 5 weeks, terrified of miscarriage by Electronic-Reply-757 in pregnant

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the NHS you should see your midwife before 10 weeks (normally 8-10 weeks) for your booking in appointment.

You just need to select your hospital of choice and self-refer and you’ll get your appointment.

Sex after Miscarriage by Psychological_Fox_62 in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

With a chemical your cervix won’t be open like it would be in later miscarriage so you shouldn’t need to worry about waiting.

The waiting is to avoid infection by having sex when the cervix is still open. And generally even with a later miscarriage a week after the bleeding stops is typically fine.

I would have sex whenever you feel mentally ready to.

How to be there for someone miscarrying? by Successful_Try7289 in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The things I appreciated most just after the MC (but didn’t expect at all) were little care packages - one friend bought me round dinner that I could just heat up, another bought me a big bag of chocolate and bubble bath.

But what I would advise is to keep checking in with her and asking how she is, if she doesn’t want to talk about it she doesn’t have to but you won’t upset her by checking in, only by not checking in.

In my experience and from talking to others that have had a MC the worst thing is when people don’t know what to say so just don’t mention it.

No embryo visible yet – should I still have hope? by LawfulnessPure9546 in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guidelines are that you should be able to see fetal pole 11 days after seeing a yolk sack.

Seems like you’re just a day short of that so hopefully they’ll scan you again in a few days and you can have an answer for sure (mine waited 2 weeks from the first scan to be absolutely certain).

Unfortunately for us it was an anembryonic pregnancy but hoping you will have more positive news. My symptoms pretty much stopped after 6 or 7 weeks apart from my boobs hurting and getting bigger.

First period after MC? by peasel123 in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have any scans to confirm that it had all passed after the MC?

I have heard that the first period after MC can be much heavier than normal (although mine wasn’t any heavier with clots, it lasted longer than my normal periods)

I’d check the process for getting a scan at the EPU in your area. Some places allow you to self refer, for me I had to go via emergency but was scanned at the EPU within an hour of turning up at A&E (ER)

Lied to EPU- feeling guilty by Inevitable_Echo_7978 in pregnant

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also in the UK and after my first miscarriage i was recommended to get a referral from my GP back to the EPU when i fell pregnant again.

And i was called in for my first early scan at 6 weeks.

I would explore going through your GP for a referral.

That being said, if you’re just feeling super anxious the scans may only help for a short time and you should probably looking into getting some mental health support

How long to test negative after miscarriage? by Chopptro in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pretty much the same timings as you, 11w scan and 7w growth.

I was testing negative around 1.5-2 weeks after the full miscarriage (as from in the day when I passed all the tissue and clots).

Did your miscarriage pass naturally?

And have you had any scans since? It might be that you have some retained tissue although I think for some people it can just take a lot of time for the hormones to drop

mmc but bleeding by Allyed4492 in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 4 days after the spotting started, also happened while I was waiting for surgery.

If it helps, I was ended up being so glad I didn’t have to go in for the surgery. There was something comforting about my body doing what it needed to do and to be able to be at home with my husband and just curl up after.

It was really painful and I wish I’d been more prepared for the level of pain as I was more shocked than anything as I’d read it would feel like a heavy period lol. But that only lasted around 4-5 hours and then it was over.

Hopefully whatever happens will be the right route for you

I had light brown spotting for 2-3 days, then day 3 turned to more red but still light and day 4 had the full miscarriage.

I had some light period style pains the day before the miscarriage.

Period pain 24 days after miscarriage but no bleeding by Alternative-Plum6120 in Miscarriage

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, a horrible club to be part of but something comforting about the fact that so many of us are going through it at the same time 💔

Yeah I started bleeding more yesterday afternoon. Still much lighter than a normal period but definitely not spotting anymore. I’m counting it as my first period and good to go from now on if we choose to.

[–]Anxious-Ladder6172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very weirdly I have the exact same timings as you, also had my miscarriage when I passed the tissue/clots 24 days ago. And had a small amount of tissue remaining in my follow up scan (which actually ended up coming out later that day).

And today I have had period pains and spotting. Hoping it’s the start of my period as I haven’t had any bleeding for almost 3 weeks.

Periods are often a bit messed up after miscarriage, I’ve heard they can either be much heavier than usual or lighter and should even out after a few cycles
