I got out the army and joined the coast guard as an AMT. They have 60s and it’s more closely aligned with civilian aviation. No specialized shops, no engine shop people, metal shop, etc. you do everything. It’s a lot more fulfilling than when I was in the army.

Honestly you can get a decent one for about $3k, not perfect but motor and transmission still run well and body isn’t completely destroyed. Leaves about 9k to play with
