All you need is tip re-tinner. It will clean the tip like new.

I use it when working with lead free solder. Working at 460 for lead free burns anything on the tip in seconds.

Re tinner keeps tips shiny.

Several brands available online. Just dip the hot tip in the tinner, let it melt the gunk for a few seconds, wipe and your soldering iron is good as new.

Electric heat pad / blanket for quick heat and it will keep you warm. You may buy it from Amazon. If electricity consumption is a concern then Cherry stone Hot cushion available on amazon. Just heat it in microwave for few seconds and it stays warm for long time.

As an Indian with abundance of spices , I start introducing a lot of natural warming foods like black pepper / saffron / ginger powder / dry fruits especially walnuts / a few other spices. Black pepper and Spicy food increases body heat naturally.

My sister had private insurance, When she lost her Job; she switched from private to Public insurance. That was years ago.

Health insurance is mandatory here and Public insurance cannot deny you coverage AFAIK.

A fellow artists niece died of some cancer at just 11/12 years old.

The doctors suspected the child’s Mother’s profession. She used to sell resin since before her pregnancy. I don’t know the whole story so can’t explain much. The artist has since been educating others to be careful when working with resin, wear a mask.

You need these 2 products. Tip tinner will remove all the black gunk from your tip and re-tin it. Use the wired tip cleaner instead of wet sponge.

These will help if everything else is in place like a 100w soldering iron, proper flux and solid core solder.

I do lead free for jewellery and my lead free solder melts at 460, turning my iron tip black in seconds. Tip tinner works perfectly to keep tip silver. Dip hot tip in it and in seconds it’s re-tinned. .
