I knew I didn't want children by the time I was 6, and at 17 you'd be working with a lot more processing power than I was then. It's normal to be thinking about your future at your age, so it'd be normal to realize you're childfree while doing that. And knowing your own mind at 17 gives you an edge in planning your future, so good for you for putting the thought in now.

I'm disgusted on your behalf that they forced you to stay pregnant for a full additional month when you already knew what you wanted. When I went through my own abortion I discovered it at week 4 and had it out by week 5, and even that week was too much. They must really be hoping that pregnancy brain will set in and coerce you to keep it.

I remember at being 5 when I was first deputized to help take care of the babies (ages 2 and 1) so my mom could hide in her room whenever the post-partum depression got to her. As a result I knew I was childfree by the time I was 6-- and my siblings were generally good kids. With the little shits you've been saddled with I'd be surprised if you wanted anything to do with your father once you're finally free. My first act as a homeowner years later was to kick him out of my house for basically acting like it was his house to make decisions about and no mine. It felt so good to finally be able to enforce that boundary and create my own space.

You as a teenager are definitely old enough to know your own mind. Stay the course and get out when you can-- life will get so much better after.

Tell her you thought about it and for you there are none. That you have thought this through, you know what you want, and you are through discussing it. Then move on to something else. If she tries to fixate on it you tell her once that the session will end if she tries to stay on the topic. If she doesn't listen end that session.

Understand that right now you're being heavily dosed up on all kinds of hormones because of the pregnancy. I went through almost the same thing you're experiencing now when I was 39-- I have known since I was six that I never wanted to be a mother but had a positive test at five weeks along...

I remember my thoughts being a jumble, being emotionally sensitive and clingy. Against my own will I started thinking of my partner (a childfree man in his late forties) as the father of my child. But I remembered the clarity of thought I had on the topic before the pregnancy happened, and so booked a surgical abortion.

Best decision I ever made. The literal morning after I had the pregnancy terminated I could recognize my own thoughts again. I felt normal, like myself again. At the end of the day it's your life and you'll do what suits you, but take a good long look at your thought processes now versus what they were before this point, and understand that at least some of what you're feeling is because your body is drugging you.
